I'm a graduate student at Stanford studying documentary film & video. My wife works in philanthropy at a small family foundation. We love movies, eco sports, traveling and our little home.

The cottage is in a quiet setting and close to campus, which makes our stay very enjoyable.
Christian is an incredibly nice host. He is always ready for help when we encountered some problems. Thank you, Christian!
I stayed at Christian and Lanee's home home on a recent business trip. Not only was the space phenomenal and perfect for me, but the location was unbeatable. The cottage is right in the heart of Palo Alto, walking distance from Stanford and other hot spots in the area. I appreciated the quiet neighborhood. It allowed me to concentrate and get my work done. Christian and Lanee were very accommodating and accessible. There is no doubt that I'd like to stay here again. As a matter of fact, I am little hesitant to tell the world about this great find. It could get too popular, and it may not be available during my next visit to Palo Alto… ;-)
We stayed in this small cottage for 8 days. It was perfect for our needs (two adults and one teenager). It was very clean and uncluttered. The bed and futon were all set up for us, which was very helpful given our late arrival. The location cannot be beat -- a quiet residential neighborhood within easy walking distance to Stanford and California Avenue. The only downside was no coffee maker -- that made for a rough first morning! There are several coffee shops within walking distance, but we'd have loved to have had a coffee maker to make our own in the morning. A cheap French press would solve that problem.
Great cottage close to Stanford and California Ave. Hosts were gracious and considerate, and left some warm cookies on our arrival. We have two small kids and other than getting a little chilly at night, they were very comfortable. Recommended!
My wife, younger son and I stayed at this cottage for nine days in July. The cottage is very neat with a fully equipped kitchen, a queen bed and a futon day-bed, a Mac desktop and Wi-fi, as well as two bikes for cycling around campus. The hosts were very accommodating of our requests and made us feel at home. They had left bagels, milk, homemade granola and yogurt for our breakfast, which was a very thoughtful touch. The best part of this cottage is the location - lovely quiet neighborhood, walking distance to Stanford campus and excellent restaurants on California Ave. It was a wonderful experience and we left wishing we could have stayed longer - definitely beats staying at a hotel!
Take a moment to imagine all of the qualities you would want in a person staying in your home, or of the person whose home you would want to stay in. I imagine cleanliness, honesty, friendliness, responsibility and competency would top that list.
Don't mistake this for an exaggeration: Christian is exactly that person.
Christian and I go way back to middle school. As long as I've known him, he's been possibly the most responsible and hard-working of all my friends, as well as an all-around awesome guy. We once traveled to Brazil together for a big school project. Christian is a great travel companion who is at once fun and focused.
Christian and Lanee are very close friends of mine. We were neighbors in China and spent a lot of time discovering the local happenings and digging into some exotic eats. They always kept a cosy clean home, I should say Lanee did actually. Christian's cool and smart, great to be around but Lanee is the one. Not only does she make everything bangin', she keeps Christian's mind on his best thoughts so he only chimes in with good ideas never bad ones. That's why ladies and gentlemen, their place is an impeccable 5 star experience and I recommend you all to stay there.
Christian is a great friend. Smart, interesting, helpful, and polite, I can not think of a better host or guest to have in my own home.
Christian and Lanee are really wonderful people and have a great place just a few blocks away from Stanford's campus. I'm a classmate of Christian's from Stanford, and would highly recommend their place. Their cottage is cozy, clean, comfortable, and surrounded by a lot of greenery.
