Je suis une photographe basée à Montréal qui aime voyager, rencontrer des gens et profiter de la nature!
I'm torn here because I had a horrible experience. The host is nice and the apartment was clean, I'll give her that. I was not familiar with the area, I drove 17 hours to stay here, and I was horrified. People smoke on the streets and trash is left out (every day that I was in the area, it wasn't trash day) and homeless people are digging through trash on every corner, prostitues on streets around 5pm, and there is a bar downstairs to her place. Not a cute bistro, a BAR.
The A/C is a window unit and the apartment was EXTREMELY stuffy and uncomfortable. The stairways leading to her place are very small and steep, so hard to bring my stuff upstairs.
I was there for less than 24 hours, though I paid for a week. Her policy is strict about cancellations and refunds, so I didn't get a penny back from her. If you're familiar with the area and these things don't bother you, stay at her place.. just be aware of the A/C and stair situation. Also, food and coffee were listed to be available. It's all opened and used, so I don't recommend.
I'm frustrated with my dealings with her, as I feel like I should have gotten my money back for the days I didn't stay. She was nice in the initial greeting and answered all of my questions. When I started to show weariness she immediately went rude and defensive, saying she couldn't be blamed. I agree, she can't help what the neighborhood is like, but she does have the power to refund me when I expressed that I couldn't stay in her place under those conditions. It's the right thing to do, as I wasn't paying for a service at that point. She got the apartment for a week and my money. This is purely a gig for her to earn an income off of, she didn't care about my staying there or my happiness at all.
I'm out over $600 total, and didn't get a vacation at all. I immediately turned around and went home. I don't recommend her place at all, unless you're a local to this area and are aware of this neighborhood. I didn't feel safe and I feel I was cheated. I'm sure I'll get a bad review from her as well, because I fought for my money back. Neadless to say, I'm never using AirBnB again and this interaction is to blame.
Great home, comfortable and very enjoyable stay. Isabelle made the entire stay very easy and all of my questions were answered with a detailed information paper at the door. If I'm ever in Montreal again, I would gladly stay again.
Isabelle was out of town but provided us with detailed directions and a contact number we could use in case of anything
Had a great time at Isabelle's flat! Definitely loved the fact that it wasn't in the middle of the city - not too busy/noisy. The subway station was 20 minutes away (as described) but it was a nice way to walk around and see the neighborhood. Plus there's a bus that stops right in front of the house, so with a little bit of planning ahead you'll have zero problems getting back!
Bien situé! Super appartement lumineux et confortable, près des services de transport, super satisfaite :)
The neighbourhood was pretty quiet during the day and for the most part at night. There was a bar close by so sometimes you could hear people outside but it wasn't disturbing at all. In general the neighbourhood was very nice and clean. The stairs getting up to the apartment were very steep, but other than that we felt very safe and comfortable in this home!
Isabelle was a great host; she contacted me ahead of time to ask if I had any questions, responded quickly, and gave me a list of things to do or eat/places to visit in the neighborhood. The place looks just as it does in pictures. The location was a bit distance from the metro and the Downtown area but walking distance from lively streets like Rue Ontario, the Biodome, and Olympic Stadium. Right next to Parc Morgan, which was very pretty, Isabelle's place is great for a quiet stay.
The apartment was exactly as shown on the page. Immediately walking in I felt like I was walking into the pictures that were shown. It is a nice cozy little space that is perfect to stay by yourself or with another person. Before booking I knew it wasn't super close to a metro but it is only a 15-20 minute walk which is not bad. It is right on a street that has many restaurants and convenience/grocery stores right by. It is a lively area at night which is enjoyable for those on vacation. Overall I really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anybody visiting Montreal.
Isabelle is very kind... its smiling.person.
I was fine with her
Great Guest, always welcome.
Isabelle and her boyfriend were perfect guests. Not demanding, very calm and clean. With one word perfect guests. Recomandation to all future hosts.
