very sympatic couple, marvelous house, only the cayman directly in front of the house didn´t want to have breakfast with us.
Perla del Pacifico was the perfect ending to a week long vacation in Costa Rica. Michael and Elizabeth are a well traveled, intriguing couple and we shared great conversations, meals, and music together. They did an outstanding job rebuilding the house and it was a joy to stay in. I would encourage anyone I know visiting Costa Rica to stay at Perla del Pacifico.
Michael & Elizabeth were gracious & helpful hosts.
Their home is historic & beautiful & the view is amazing. It's not the easiest to find, because there's no signs (for the Perla del Pacifico or streets or park). We had to ask around, but if we can find it; you can find it!
Elizabeth's breakfast was delicious. Cheese eggs, fresh fruit, coffee/tea, toast... plenty to go around.
What we loved most about Perla del Pacifico, was the location. Our flight didn't get in until around 3pm; so it was a perfect place to spend the night, to catch the ferry to the Nicoya Pennisula. It's a TWO MINUTE drive to the ferry!
I would definitely recommend breaking-up your trip to the Nicoya Peninsula and spending the night at Perla del Pacifico! Do it!
Wow, Perla del Pacifico is nothing short of an Oasis in Puntarenas. Michale and Elizabeth are superlative hosts. We wish we could have stayed longer. It was my Birthday, and they really made it special by offering and making us a lovely dinner. They are very interesting and gracious hosts. And the house is nothing short of Marvelous! I cannot recommend them highly enough. Truly an unusual and amazing place to stay!!
I was happy to find this Pearl for a one-night stayover on the coast during Semana Santa. The whole experience was quite unique, with continental hosts from Germany and France, in a 100-year-old house (more or less) built by a former business magnate and Vice President of Costa Rica, which Michael and Elizabeth brought beautifully back to life (the house, not the man) since purchasing it 6 years ago. Besides the geniality of the hosts, and the charm of the house next to the water, I enjoyed the walk to the beach a few blocks away for an evening meal. Enjoy.
Our stay at perla del pacifico was WONDERFUL. Michael and Elisabeth were both extremely inviting, friendly, and hospitable. The house is beautifully renovated and spacious. The bathrooms are very modern and the rooms are comfortable. Elisabeth's outstanding pieces of art are decorating every room in the house--which we really enjoyed! This is a great place to stay, especially if you want a delicious breakfast made for you in the morning! We HIGHLY recommend staying here, and hope to stay again should we re-visit the beautiful country of Costa Rica! :)

La Perla del Pacifico was our "coup de coeur"!
Warm welcome, lovely couple, magical place, whomever passing by Puntarenas should spend a night at this place, if not for seeing the gorgeous house and its sight, at least in order to meet the amazing hosts!
For sure we'll come back one day or another...
