I'm from Florence and I start hosting with airbnb last June 2010! I'm 38 years old and my son is Alessandro 15 years old! I have a dog named Rick!
Consigliato!
Beautiful stay in the most romantic city in the world, Florence. Olivia's house is beautiful in a lovely location away from the tourist area but not too far of a walk to the city. Room was as expected with a clean bathroom nearby. Olivia was very kind to assist with my travels back home on my last day. Overall a lovely stay.
We rented Olivia's apartment for our adult children & partners. They loved it. Being in a 12th century building, it's a bit old but it was clean, comfortable & spacious. And the best space was the little terrance overlooking the Arno to the Uffizi Museum - pure magic & what a great spot to watch the Florentine world go by if, like us, you have a few rainy periods. The apartment will hold great memories for us as well as our children as I can see them standing in the Uffizi one day with their own kids & pointing out the lovely apartment across the Arno which they stayed in the first time they came to Florence as young adults in October 2013. Grazie mille Olivia.
1) Olivia was very friendly, punctual and reacted promptly to any requests.
2) Appartment and location fit the descrition.
3) However, the bathrooms are worn down and thus hard to keep as clean and tidy as one would like.
This rental gets 1 star for location which is roughly a 2 minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio. The view from the window is nice as well. However, that is about the only plus to the apartment. When we arrived the lower room and kitchen area smelled strongly of a combination of mildew/mold/ammonia. The upper room where the beds were located smelled of smoke. We considered getting a different place for our last 2 nights in Florence, but decided to stick it out. The mold irritated both our allergies and caused sinus congestion and headaches that finally forced me to go to the Pharmacy. We are still on our Europe vacation and our symptoms improved almost immediately after leaving. We also had many mosquito bites due to leaving the window open to air out the rooms. The last couple nights I slept with bug repellant. We have stayed at 7 different hotels and vacation rentals during our trip and this is by far the worst.
We spend a week in Olivia's place. She was a nice hostess, we had a good communication. The appartment itself had a great location, near all the places to visit in Florence, such as the Uffizi or the Pitti Palace. We found the place quite simple, the kitchen wasn't very functional, for exemple there was nothing to make oneself coffee. We were disappointed about internet, there was no real internet in the place, we were suppose to connect on Florence's Wifi, wich didn't worked on eather of our Iphones. To sum up, we loved the location of the place and it was agreable, we just regret that the appartement wasn't more functional.
Olivia made me feel at home for the month that I stayed with her. She introduced me any time her family or friends stopped by. It was nice to have a private room and access to the kitchen where she made space for my groceries. The bathroom was also mostly private. I really enjoyed the property and the view Olivia showed me from the top of the hill. Because I stayed for almost a month, Olivia was very kind in sharing her TV (with cable!) Her son was rude at times, not too often, but he is young and often out. I also loved her dog, a large Boxer. The house is about 15 minutes walking to anything you would like to see while in Florence and when I went out at night Olivia let me borrow her bike to ensure a safe return. I am truly grateful for her hospitality during my stay in Florence.
Out of all the apartments we've stayed in with Airbnb, this was our favourite. Very reasonably priced for central Florence (and it is very central), with plenty of space to accommodate the six of us. The apartment is amazing, with really cool decor, and has everything you could possibly need. Check in couldn't have been easier. Would readily recommend and stay again.
This lovely flat is spacious, quiet and well decorated, the location is perfect. If I ever go back to Florence, I would definitely stay there again ! In one word : it is a perfect place to stay. Moreover, Olivia is very nice and helpful.

I knew Olivia some years Ago in Vinitaly, the international wine exthibition in Verona. She is lovely, a perfect host and i know her fantastic dinners and i saw the flat she rents in Florence. I can say Olivia is correct, she knows how to do with foreing people in Florence. If you like to have a place near Florence city center, but even Ok for excursions in Siena, Chiantishire and Sangimignano i think you have founded a good solution. Olivia speaks a very good English and she understand even German. From Marco Barbaro
Olivia's place is a beautiful house recently renovated in an enchanted site. It is in the city at walking distance from all major monuments through a pleasant walk, but in an oasis of green and quiet, with a beautiful private garden. Olivia will enchant you with its warmth and hospitality, with her cooking, if you will decide to ask her, and with her green eyes.
She will do everything to put you at ease and prevent your needs. She will keep you updated on what is interesting in the city: openings, exhibitions, festivals ... often free and rewarding. She is a really nice person in every sense.
