I wanted to just leave a few final comments regarding David and Sherry's review. They are correct in saying that my profile is not as perfect as theirs, as this was the first time i have used AirBNB, but as for contact information, they can send me messages (and did, several, before and during our stay), and there is also my phone number. "several changes to the dates/arrival times of their reservation", there were two, the first way before arriving, as i reserved one night too many, and informed them, the second was due to the airline i was travelling with cancelling my flight and leaving me stuck in NY and unable to get to DC that night, of which i informed them as soon as i could, (and obviously still paid for the unused night!). Regarding "stains left on the sheets" which according to their Private Feedback (which btw was written with a completely different "tone of voice") were black stains, i honestly have no idea what stains they are referring to, and had i known / seen them would of happily had the sheets cleaned before we left. "Trash" yes there was "trash" in the bins provided, i was not aware i had to empty the bins before leaving, i was told just to put the towels in the basket provided and not worry about anything else (which we did). We did accidentally take the Metro passes with us, but i emailed David and Sherry advising them and apologising within a couple of hours of leaving (we left at 4am) and they were returned by mail. There was ample communication between us and the hosts, before and during the stay, i was not aware there was an issue, i also replied thanking them for every message or email received. I was not aware either that use of the guest book was an obligation, but we did look through it, and we left it back how we had found it. Not to be picky, but the Washer / Dryer advertised, we were informed on arrival that it did not work, and that someone was going to fix it while we were there, which i don't believe happened, and if it did we were not told. Since leaving i have also sent two messages to David & Sherry to confirm they have received the Metro Passes, to which i have had no response so far.I am personally very sorry to David and Sherry that this experience was not as they had hoped, and it also was not for us either. I don't however feel that it is fair to post reviews about people that blow things right out of proportion and give a very bad impression when it is not warranted.
