I have stayed at hostels, and have really enjoyed Air BnB, for the friendly, welcoming atmosphere of the hosts. I was not expecting anything special at Kim's, due to the low price, and was very grateful to hear about the upgrade to a private bath. The room was very adequate. I chose to not stay at Kim's place because of a scary pit bull at her home that was allowed to run loose in the house. The owner (one of Kim's roomates) of the pit bull had to slap him to get him to stop lunging at me, so that I could enter the house. He apologized for the dogs actions. Kim was not there, so I told Kim's other roomate why I was not going to stay. I also told AirBnB and Kim why I did not stay. Kim called and left a voice mail apologizing for the dog (and for one of her roomates), and said the dog was no longer allowed upstairs, and one of the roomates was leaving, and offered a two night comp stay. I told her that I would prefer refund of one night's stay as I had to find other accomadations. Kim did tell me there were dogs, although said they were friendly. I was surpised that she wrote a review, and the content. I called her, and Kim said she would change her review of me if she could, and encouraged me to write a review of my stay, which I had not done yet. Kim has always sounded very friendly, and lives in a great area. I think she will do very well with Air BnB if she corrects the situations that she felt she needed to apologize for.
