When it comes to traveling, I'm not a big planner. I love finding hidden local joints vs. going to the overly crowded tourist traps. I love the feel of looking at physical folded map vs. the one on my phone. And I'm probably part of the 2% of travelers that refuses to download Rick Steve's traveling tidbits. Call me a bit old fashion, but I like to ask around, talk to the locals, read, get lost (in a safe neighborhood of course) and find my way back. A mix of danger, curiosity, and a bit of the Goonie-ish approach. But again, this is when it comes to traveling. Get me back into the office or at home and it's a completely different story.
As a host, I like to meet expectations and will try my best to make everyone's trip enjoyable. I won't take the easy and lazy way out to steer guests to the usual tourist spots. Depending on the level of interaction needed, I can be your new temporary bff or non-existent during your stay.
As a guest, I like to treat the host's place exactly like my own home. Clean, well-maintained and I leave the property looking as if I never even arrived. I like to start my adventures early in the morning and get a good night's rest. No need to worry about noise complaints, keg parties or disturbing the neighbors.
About me? I love life. Takes a lot less energy being happy than it is to be sad.
