We had an amazing stay at Casa Blanca. The house was spacious, everyone was welcoming and helpful, and the weather was beautiful. It's a gem off the beaten path that isn't far from the beach. Roger answered the phone any time we needed some extra info. Couldn't have been a better trip!
The reservation was canceled 36 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a great stay at Casa Verde! We stayed at the house for a month. The whole area is nice and Casa Verde (the name of the house) is back in La Vista eco village; off the grid and on solar. Lots of wildlife around: birds, butterflies, and lots of howler monkeys. ( I counted about 30 of them in a tree right by the house one time!) The monkeys kind of migrate around. Some days they'll be hanging out in the tree right by the house and other days they'll be elsewhere. The beds have mosquito nets but bring bug spray for when you're lounging around in the evenings.
There were three bicycles when we were there and it is about a 8 minute ride to the break Panga Drops, and 12 minutes to Colorados. Or a 25 minute walk to PG/35 min walk to Colorado.
When we were there we didn't have a car so we did most of our grocery shopping in El Gigante which is about a 50 minute walk down the beach from Playa Colorados. (Even if you don't need to go shopping it is a fun little beach town to check out with restaurants, bars, and a very small Saturday market where we got our kale fix. Try to time your walks so you aren't going at high tide as there is a section where you have to go on the rocks and on high - high tides some waves will splash up on your route and you have to time with the sets. Or just drive if ya have a car.)
There is also a couple small stores on the main road coming in to La Vista/Iguanas about a 10 minute ride from the house. They have fruit/veggies, beer, snacks. (Iguanas is the name of the whole area where playa Colorados, the golf course, condos, and beach houses are.) Drinking water is provided at the house.
NSR is about a 10 minute ride away and they rent surf/buggie boards. And there is a bar/restaurant above it.
The internet is a USB doggle that you plug into your laptop and then connects via 3G. So you have to take turns using it. And it wouldn't work with a phone or pad that doesn't have a USB port.
There is a nice lady that comes and cleans the house a couple times a week.
Overall I highly recommend it. Very peaceful and quiet (with the exception of the howler monkeys). They had a bunch of books on the book shelf and I really enjoyed just chilling out in a hammock with a book.
I've known Roger for six years. as a friend and business acquaintance. As a friend, he is trustworthy and (website hidden) a business acquaintance, he can get any job done. He's helped us several times. He's bilingual so he can help everyone. Give Roger a try.
I have known Roger for 5 years or more and met him through the construction of my house at La Vista. He is my go to guy to get stuff done/translated/paid or what ever if I can't get there myself. Trustworthy and a good friend. Not sure about the picture though? :)
