Professional Open minded couple living in San Francisco (imagine that!) Elvis is originally from Chicago and Jillian is from Washington DC. We love to travel and hosted for several years prior to moving to SF.
Our listing clearly states this is an 800 st ft condo with ONE bedroom. It does
not state that we have a futon, sleeper sofa or otherwise. This was something
that was assumed and not communicated prior to booking. If you have important
questions like this, please communicate this prior to booking. We will happily
chat with you. The maximum our place can sleep is 3. The sofa is a three
person couch, and to the contrary is quite large. Once again, the laundry is
not our property but is available to use since it is a common use facility.
Margie was impossible to communicate with as her number was listed on her
Airbnb profile as an international number and not a US number. This is
something we cannot guess is correct- we assume it is. We tried e-mailing, and
calling IMMEDIATELY to resolve problems to no avail. Please make sure you
double check your contact info on Airbnb to ensure that we can contact you when
the time arises. And if a situation is urgent, you should call us right away.
We will do everything we can to resolve issues if we know if they are issues in
the first place (such as a locked laundry room- we would have FedEx Overnighted
Margie another key). This is our home, so yes- our things such as laundry, and
nightstand/dresser accessories will be out and about. This is NOT a hotel.
Airbnb is a community where people rent their homes to folks like you so you
can have a unique vacation experience. This warrants common respect, such as
not going through closets, drawers and our personal belongings. Please
carefully read the description of our home (guidebook and house rules as well)
so you fully understand the details. It seems these three reviews were from
poor communication, misguided assumptions about our property, and what Airbnb
has to offer as a whole.
Once again, our dishwasher is NOT listed as an amenity (in the amenities section
or in the written description of our property). Our cleaning person cleans the
apartment each time, before and after a guest leaves. Perhaps some leaves fell
on the floor after the cleaning person left- Chicago gets hot in the summer and
indoor plants can suffer. This is entirely possible. This is not a hotel, this
is our home, we live here, and we use our fridge. Leo only contacted us about
the leaves and ironing board. Other problems were not communicated. If you
have questions or concerns we are a phone call/email away.
Michael has an international number and decided to hurry our conversations when
I was giving him important details over the phone. When he had questions or
when problems arose, he called and we answered EVERY time. In return, he turned
his phone off for most of the day and/or calls would not connect because of
his foreign number. Please, please do not do this. If we need to reach you via
phone and your phone is off, all hope will be lost. Our dishwasher is not
listed as an amenity (Airbnb does not even give the option to list it as such).
The shower is not in pieces. The nob was replaced the day before his arrival
and it turned out to be a defective part. This was fixed after he left. The
laundry (as it states in the listing) is not our property, instead is a public
use for everyone in the building.
