Hi there! We love meeting new people and hosting them here in this awesome, comfy home. We bought this great house in mid-October, 2012, and we're very excited to create a comfortable, welcoming place to spend time. We're also very chill and fun and like to hang out in front of the fire place or dining room table and drink wine or beer and chat.
I'm (Eve) passionate about making the world a better place and having fun in the process… both in work and in life. I'm a social entrepreneur and have started nonprofit and for-profit companies that make a difference in the lives of people and for our environment. I now work for UC Berkeley's business school, the Haas School of Business, raising money to build "innovative, path-bending leaders." I tend to work hard and play hard, but also enjoy just relaxing in my comfy home with guests from all over the world.
Ed is a hard-working real estate investor and has a profitable hobby of buying, fixing up and selling Porsches (cars) from the 1960s and 1970s. He's very relaxed and kind and easy-going. The two of us like to go on lots of adventures and may be out and about quite a bit.
We love this home, and especially love the idea of sharing it with others while we're here or away. Adjacent to a big park, and a short walk to the North Berkeley BART station, the gourmet ghetto (amazing restaurants) and UC Berkeley, this house is arguably in the best neighborhood in Berkeley. With a newly remodeled kitchen and bathroom, a real-working fireplace, and a gorgeous back patio and garden that allows for both indoor and outdoor eating and lounging, it's a very cool place. The sun room is also a great feature, with a sunny breakfast nook and a quiet place to study or work on your computer.
Our house is a classic Berkeley craftsman bungalow with two accommodations available for guests: 1) The "regular" bedroom with a really comfy queen-sized bed, and 2) the "not so normal," but comfortable fold-out full-sized bed in the sun room. On occasion, I may have guests staying in both beds, but that's somewhat rare.
We look forward to hearing from you!
