I am a graduate student at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and my husband is an officer in the U.S. Army. We love simple things like reading books at coffee shops and cooking a dinner from scratch together in our little studio apartment. My favorite pastimes are shopping at thrift stores, watching movies (lately British crime thrillers), baking blueberry pies and [much to my chagrin] following Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson's romance. Prior to going back to grad school, I was an art teacher at a small private school, a portrait artist and a waitress. I also worked at my church kitchen for almost a year, so between that and being a waitress, I have a high respect for people in the service industry, which would include Airbnb hosts/hostesses. It's no small thing to prepare a place for someone.
As far as my art goes, it has been a passion of mine since I was a wee child. A king once wrote, “There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from Him who can eat or who can have enjoyment?” (Eccl. 2:24-5)
How thankful I am to be able to pursue work that captures my heart and gives healthy exercise to my mind! I hope to spend a lifetime becoming more fluent in visual communication so that people may view my art with ever-increasing clarity, ease and pleasure.
