I'm a young business professional looking to take a break from corporate life to explore the world. I like to avoid the typical tourist traps when travelling - I just want to be one of the locals going about my business. When selecting a place to stay while travelling, location is the most important deciding factor for me. I don't need a whole lot of space, but I do want to be in a safe part of town that is reasonably close to interesting shops, restaurants, pubs, parks, museums, etc. Also, comforts such as washing machines and private bathrooms are not mandatory, but they are appreciated if available. I currently only speak English fluently (my Spanish is pretty pathetic), but I'm hoping to slowly fix that problem during my travels.
I'm a fan of good food and great beer/wine (I'm a bit of a beer snob, actually). I'm also pretty fanatical about fitness and nutrition, so that balances out my love of food and drink nicely. I'll choose chilled-out dinners and beers with friends over crazy bars and clubs any day of the week. I'm a fan of Rock, Classical, Big Band and Electronic music. Reading is my favorite pastime, followed closely by good movies. I'm also addicted to great coffee, and I'm totally fine with that...we all have our vices.
