The carriage house was super comfortable, I've never seen a space so well put together. Also it is a one minute walk away from the Newton Highlands T stop, which made it easy to get in and out of the city.
Jamie and Liza were great, we showed up in the middle of winter and they made sure that the place was warm, the walkways were cleared and salted.
Liza met us and made us feel so at home. An amazing experience right outside of Boston.
We were met by Jamie. He was so welcoming and courteous. He had a bottle of champagne waiting for us, chilling in ice. Upon discovering that we didn't drink, he quickly exchanged it for sparkling cider. He was so nice to us and very helpful.
Jamie and Liza are the best, I feel like this is my home away from home. And the Carriage House is a gem, I've done a few AirBNBs now and this is the best. Also a great location, and while I was there the leaves were changing in the fall - gorgeous!
Jamie and Liza were great hosts giving us privacy and still being available whenever we had a question. The house was lovely and well stocked,
Bed was super comfy! We took along our 9 month old and our hosts were kind enough to lend us a small pack and play .. One less thing to pack!
Overall, a great stay!
I had a thoroughly delightful stay at the Carriage House. It's located in a shady, beautiful being within Boston that's also close to the city. There is a swimming lake nearby, too. The hosts are fun and unobtrusive and love helping with directions and things to do. THis is the way to enjoy Boston!
This property exceeded my expectations in all ways. The restored Carriage House is elegant yet rustic and warm. It is equipped with everything you could need and want to make it a delightful stay. The location is superb since it is a block and a half from the T station. We were able to park our rental that we needed for our trip to Central Mass and take the T into Boston which reduced stress and costs. It was a pleasure to come back to the property after a long day. Both Jamie and Liza were engaging and kind. We arrived a little early yet was created with graciousness and kindness even though I can imagine it threw off the cleaning. I highly recommend this place and will stay here again when in the area.
We pulled up to the Hyde Street manse on a beautiful summer afternoon. We stopped just beyond the driveway, parking at the curb, under a thick canopy of rich foliage. The stately Carriage House that would be our residence for a week stood at the end of the driveway, seeming to rise from the embraces of local pudding stone. The setting is beautiful. Liza came out and beckoned us to park in the driveway, beside the family car, in front of the Carriage House. We were welcomed as warmly as if we were long-lost friends arriving for a reunion. Thus began a magical week in a magnificently appointed Carriage-House residence. The Carriage House provides all the comforts of home. And hosts Liza & Jamie spare no effort to ensure that guests will enjoy their stay and feel welcomed. This property exceeded our expectations in all respects. Its location in walking distance to a couple of Newton's villages and to a T stop (Newton Highlands) make this property a gem. We availed ourselves of local dining opportunities and took a ride on the T to downtown Boston. Liza & Jamie were kind enough to allow our sister to park in the driveway beside our car when we took the T to Boston. Three cheers to Liza & Jamie, innkeepers par excellence!
Aw Shucks Jack! It was delightful to host you and Rich. You both were truly phenomenal guests. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our space. We hope to have you stay with us again.
The carriage house is well-appointed, spacious, and very comfortable. It served my wife and me well during our five days as Boston tourists. (The transit station is a short walk away, and the subway ride to downtown is about 30 minutes.) Our hosts were pleasant and accommodating.
The Carriage House could not have been more perfect. Beautiful renovation of late 19th century building in superb village location with easy access to shops, restaurants and 1 1/2 block from metro into Boston. Our hosts were gracious and accommodating. We enjoyed it so much we are returning in December.
