It is not my style to leave a negative review ... but unfortunately, when someone like Luciana comes along, we as hosts need to follow our instincts and experiense by simply not accepting or cancelling their reservation request. This is my mistake on Luciana's case. She made a reservation from only one guest, months after shortly before her arrival, by our conversations i had to ask her "who eslse" was traveling with her and in fact her mother was coming along. I explaine to Luciana she needed to correct her reservation paying the correct amount. Luciana did not react very well writing back - "now I have no choice" her own words implying she I forced her to pay a fee if she decided to cancel. My reply was that I would be flexible and willing to cancel her reservation myself if she wanted me to do so, this way she would be free of any contractual obligations with me through airbnb. I gave her the choice. Luciana then replied " I do not want to cancel! We are arriving at your place at set date...", What can I say of this, my biggest mistake was NOT cancelling Luciana's reservation at once! I knew I should have done, but felt bad for her. Well everybody, Luciana's review is obvously untrue. By reading my previous and may I say future reviews as well, all of you will be able to have a real idea of what my place is really like. A "inexpensive, cute, comfy and quiet little apartment in one of the most pleasant areas of Manhattan!!"
Let's all hope Luciana will see life in a more positive light someday.
