Klaudia was an amazing host. While I never got to meet her in person, she was always readily available over email for any concerns that I had. The apartment is small, but it is also quite cozy. The neighbourhood in which the apartment is situated is also great, with the residents being lovely and quite willing to assist foreigners with enquiries. I'd highly recommend Klaudia's apartment.
Location - 5 stars, steps away from the train line and if you walk towards Shibuya through Yoyogi, you'll walk through the cutest neighborhood of tiny bars and restaurants.
Apartment - Authentic Japanese, aka, not made for tall or larger people. Luckily my husband and I are "small". But he's skinny and 5'11. Had a hard time closing the door to use the toilet and sometimes even enter the apartment (through a super narrow hallway). However, we loved the tatami/bedroom. Internet was very shaky. So pros and cons for the apartment. Perfect if you need internet for short periods of time or don't care much about a proper bathroom...
Hostess - Klaudia was very thorough, easy to reach and communicate with
All in all, I'd consider staying here again, but would test out other spots too, just in case. Ah, I miss Japan already!
I've stayed in many Guest Houses across Tokyo and I can say this is the best way to go, hands down. Klaudia's apt is cozy and VERY conveniently located to all the cool stuff in Tokyo (Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku) via the Chiyoda and Odakyu train lines. If you've never stayed in Tokyo, know that walking distance to your nearest station is KEY to a comfortable visit and in this case is literally 1 minute.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Klaudia's flat for a week and really enjoyed it. It really is one of the best locations in Tokyo -- right near the train station and so close to Shibuya, Omotesando, Harajuku and Shimokitazawa, with a handy train line for getting anywhere else in the city. All her notes and instructions on the apartment and surrounding area were very thoughtful and she's very quick to respond to emails. Plus the aircon is AWESOME. Thanks Klaudia!
Klaudia's place is absolutely special and charming. It is located in the best place in town to be with a lot of little interesting shops and parks to discover and very central. The apartment is cozy it has the charm of an old place but Klaudia being an architect she made it into a very functional warm place to be.
I cannot say enough good things about Klaudia; she has been a good friend for many years and was an incredibly thoughtful host when I stayed with her in Tokyo. She made Tokyo my new Paris.
I have stayed with Klaudia twice in her previous flat in Tokyo and found that she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with respect to navigating Japan and Japanese culture. She made sure that the flat was clean and organized for my stay and did a good job of explaining how all the standard amenities of a Japanese residence function (i.e. bed, shower/bath, gas stove, washing machine, toilet, etc)... which are not necessarily familiar to a typical Westerner. I can say that Klaudia is also very honest and careful about the information she gives people.
