Our experience was wonderful with Dee!!! We stayed in a few places during our journey across Ireland and Dee was most definitely the most hospitable. She greeted us warmly and had made us the most delicious biscuits and coffee and made us a delicious giant breakfast the next morning. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer and visit more! Beds were comfortable and water was hot-that's all I ever really ask for. Dee went the extra mile for us and made sure we were very comfortable and felt welcomed even though we arrived late.
Grand Irish hospitality! We very much enjoyed our stay with Dee. The bed was comfortable, setting lovely, food delicious! Everything was quite clean as well. Dee is a fantastic host with a lot of knowledge of the area. Highly recommended!
It is situated in marvellous rolling rural countryside, fantastic breakfast and Dee is great company.
Dee and Bob welcomed us with open arms. Very sweet hosts. The description was accurate. The house has four bedrooms on the second floor and my family occupied three bedrooms. Bob and Dee were in the fourth bedroom. The guests have access to the hall bath, It has a nice large tub, but showering was a challenge with the flexible hose for kids in particular. Bob and Dee let us use their shower which was very generous. There is a private sitting room for the guests downstairs. Dee let us use the laundry facilities, their kitchen and their drink refrigerator. The house is in the middle of the country. Sheep, cows, horses and a donkey are their to welcome you as well. 10 minutes from Newcastle. Very kind hosts. Dee coordinated ancestry research for me which I really appreciated.
Dee has been an amazing host, very welcoming and kind for our too-short stay, even if we booked the room on very short notice. It has been great getting to spend time with her and Bob, we really felt like in friend's home! From tea to beer and breakfast, the discovery of local culture has been unexpected and just perfect. HUGE Irish breakfast for our last morning in the country, we couldn't eat anything more until the next day lol. AND the house is very nice, lovely rooms and bathroom full of details, a few pets as well, very quiet environment. We loved it and definitely recommend it!
This was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Dee is very helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. We enjoyed her warm, clean, well appointed home as well as the beautiful surroundings. We knew it was a bit off the beaten path but our relaxing stay was worth it. Thank you, Dee! From your help to your wonderful Irish breakfast, we felt lucky to have found Copper Beech House.
We had a very nice (and too short) stay with Dee in her country house. We arrived much later than planned and were unable to contact Dee by cellphone because our Irish SIM card didn't work in Northern Ireland (duh). Despite that Dee was ready to greet us and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and kept us on our feet for the rest of the day! We would have liked to stay longer and explore the area and will definitely do so if we get a chance.
Dee and her husband are very very very kind, generous and friendly. We have really spend a good time in their house. They gave us good advice to visit Ireland.
The breakfast is just perfect ! As the room and the bathroom (very cute and lovely)
We want to thank you again for all ! And we wish you the best !
And we hope you understand our english ;)
Thank you so much Marion. Your English is fine but I have borrowed discs and books from the library to help me learn French again lol
Of the six hosts on our trip throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland, Dee was by far the best. Outstandingly kind, thoughtful and generous with her beautiful home nestled amid a countryside full of blackberries. Ask for a meeting with Murphy.
Deirdre is a wonderfully generous and kind hostess. She was happy to share her (infinite) wisdom with us about the history of Ireland and our family history. She is very knowledgeable about the Newcastle area (where we could have easily spent 2 weeks instead of 2 days!)
Her home, though not particularly accessible by transit, was perfect for us as we rented a car. The rooms were stunning; her presentation of food and home was so welcoming and caring... we felt like there was not a thing to do but relax and enjoy.
I would highly recommend staying with Deirdre and spending a chunk of time in Newcastle!
