Aloha! I am a fun loving, outdoorsy mother of one amazing girl! I love Hawaii, but hope airbnb will allow me to travel to the American continent to visit those places and people that I love there. . . I am a freelance Historian, who consults in the field of Historic Preservation and Cultural Resource Management. I also review books for Foreward Magazine and have taught English Composition at the Hawaii Community College and online for Chaminade University.

My husband, Jim, is an English professor at Chaminade University; he handles most of the arrangements for the listings on Oahu. Jim is a poet and nature writer whose scholarly articles have centered on Gary Snyder, W.S. Merwyn and Ezra Pound among others. We also hope to get to northern California more often in the coming years, as Jim's older daughter, Carolyn is in medical school there and plans to marry and raise her family there.

Jim and I also co-authored a photographic history of Waikiki, the world famous crescent shaped white sand beach on Oahu's leeward coast. We usually leave a copy for purchase on the desk in the Lanai.

Every summer, my family and I participate in the rough water, open ocean swim races here in Hawaii. We also surf, hike, bike, walk and do yoga. We love to cook and frequent the farmer's markets where bountiful fresh produce, local fruits and prepared foods can be found. There is a farmer's market happening almost every day in Hawaii. They are well worth going off the beaten path for and all of the prepared food served is by licensed vendors who must use a certified kitchen.

We hope you enjoy your stay in our space and don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns. We are just a text away.
