A welcoming, sympathetic host who has put his house our available.
Out of our 3 airbnb stays in Ireland, I would have to say our experience with Stephen was our most enjoyable. Stephen welcomed us into his home late during the night. He made us a cup a tea (that was delicious) while we settled in. We ended up chatting the night away. Stephen's got a lot of interesting tales about his adventures worldwide. His place was perfect between Galway and the Cliffs of Moher.
The house is a little dated but very homey and comfy feeling. The room was clean and spacious with a comfy bed and clean linen. He even had little hotel toiletries at the bedside(nice touch). You share a bathroom that has hot water in the shower and was relatively clean. The house is in a quiet area. The meadow behind his house had cows visiting for a spell. It was a lovely place.
Stephen was so accommodating and hospitable. He went out of his way to go get food for breakfast and made toast and eggs for us. This was actually one of my most memorable meals here in Ireland. Thanks for the meal and the delightful company. We took your advice about not parking at the visitor's center at the Cliffs of Moher and found a nice parking lot on a farm near the scenic trail along the cliffs up the road for 2 EUR.
Come look us up when you are back in SF. Thanks for letting us stay with you. I agree with the other reviewer, I think we made a new friend. I just wish we had time to stay another day with you.
We were looking for a room but we found a friend, thanks Stephen for everything!
Staying with Stephen was great fun! He is a perfect entertainer and story teller. We also found his knowledge about Ireland very helpful to plan the rest of our tour. Looking forward to meet him again!
