Knowing oneself is difficult. Some people can understand a part of themselves in the span of their lifetime. Most are totally clueless of who they are. It is a gift if one is able to unravel the mystery of his persona.
In first instance I would say I am open, easy going, hobby traveler and interested in all kind of arts, music and discoveries !
And I feel I need to go a little bit deeper into an interesting conversation rather than telling you just who am I and where I am from..so be prepared :)
editI practice regularly Bikram Yoga .
I play clarinet and a bit of piano: I listen to jazz and classical music.
I keep on learning how to take nice photos.
I travel and try to learn as much as I can by meeting new people and discovering nice places !
I like nice discussions around a glass of red wine. I like the noise of the tropical forest, the sunset sailing on the Alster lake...
I am looking forward to listening to your stories !
edit"Plus les hommes seront eclaires et plus il seront libres " Voltaire. (he could have been a couch surfer :) )
An chinese proverb says also "it's better to travel 1,000 miles than read 1,000 books." But I like reading too!:)
A more cynical quote about tourism from a french philosoph: " Tourism is the activity of moving people who better should stay at home to places which would look better without them ..."
We always get the life we want. Since if you want it enough, it's likely you'll have a plan to go after it.
Music, Movies, Books
editI am open to different kind of cultures and try to discover as much as I can:
Films: I go often to the movies with mainly non US main stream production:), : Claude Berry "ensemble c est tout" , Lars von Trier, Good Bye Lenine , Hitchcock, A beautiful mind, The English Patient, Claude Sautet, Into the Wild...
Music: I am a musician and enjoy classical music I go often to the symphonic concerts in Hamburg (NDR). Hamburg is also very dynamic for lots of interesting jazz concerts (Brad Mehldau and I have a few musicians friends).
Books: Biographies, social studies , fictions ( from Proust to Harry Potter:) )
A nice book I currently recommend is "The Working Life" written by Ciula.
Types of People I enjoy
editEverybody has a different story and background...so I enjoy most everybody, because they give me new insight to the world cultures, and activities.
Those who believe in mutual respect of all human beings, who're gentle, humble, yet bold to discuss any or all ideas freely; those who cherish and celebrate diversity.
Basic good manners, logical thought and consideration greatly increase likeability quotient !
Teach, Learn, Share
editClarinet, french, German, yoga...and how to cook some french dishes, or at least my style dishes like lemon pie !
More serious topic like energy sustainability could be discussed while doing the above activities :)
About learning, there will always be much more things for me to learn than what I know, so feel free to make any proposal.
One Amazing Thing I've Seen or Done
editAscentionnal parachuting in Mauritius !
Trip to Tibet... intense and spiritual !
