This place is AWESOME! 100000% recommend staying here. The location is great, it's beautiful inside and right next to one of the coolest looking mountains I've ever seen.
We had a great time. The neighborhood was great. It was a cute little place next to wildlife and peace and quiet. It was a nice retreat. Our hosts were great. We'll definitely return.
This was our first time booking an airbnb, but Jon made it a smooth and easy experience. From our first communication, Jon was thorough and descriptive. We knew how to get there, what to expect, where the keys could be found, and things to do in the area. Although we did not need to call him, we had his number and he told us to call if we needed anything. We did not. We were quite comfortable.
It's a sweet, cozy spot which we easily found thanks to Jon's directions. Tucked in a quiet neighborhood, and located at the bottom of a ravine as described, my fiancé and I enjoyed sitting on the tranquil deck watching the birds (many beautiful humming birds) and listening to the sounds of nature. It was peaceful and quaint...much different from what we're used to in Los Angeles.
We also took a wonderful hike up into the hills, as suggested by Jon, which was a fun and quiet experience. The room was just as described. Small room, with a full, newly remodeled bath, easy-to-use wifi, television, microwave, etc... It was charming and lovely, and I'd stay there again in a minute.
We didn't use the A/C the first night as it was a beautiful cool evening and the window and ceiling fan made the room perfect. The second night we used the A/C but it cooled quickly and made us quite comfortable.
If I were to point out one thing, the bathroom is an extension of the bedroom and has no door. While my fiancé and I are very comfortable with each other, sometimes you need just a little privacy. A curtain or folding screen might be nice. But when we needed those private moments, we just went out to the beautiful deck.
Although this place is hushed and private, downtown Palm Springs is just minutes away. This little Casita is conveniently located with Palm Springs, Cathedral City, and Ranch Mirage all just a short drive.
I would have loved to stay another night or two, but we had to get back for work. Hope to return again soon.
great place, thanks!
Fantastic and quiet location. I was attending a wedding at the Ace Hotel and the Hiker's Hippie Hollow was perfectly located. The front patio was very relaxing and I used it for morning coffee to start the day.
Jon was very accessible in pre-communication and everything about my arrival was smooth and as planned. There was even sunscreen lotion which was perfect since I of course had none of that along and clearly needed some.
Restaurants are about a mile away or a quick $6 Uber ride which was perfect. Depending on the time of year very walkable.
All in all an excellent experience.
Great time spent there! The space was perfect and the outdoor area was so calm and quiet. Would definitely recommend to others!
This place was a little gem at the edge of wilderness in a quiet neighborhood. The bed was cozy and room was very clean. The casita was exactly as we envisioned.
What a great first experience with airbnb! The most beautiful, quiet location you could imagine. We spent every morning and evening on the deck enjoying the beautiful views. The room, although small, is really nice and the shower is amazing. Again, who cares if the room is a bit on the small side with an amazing deck like that to enjoy! If we wanted a huge characterless room we would have stayed at motel 6 :) When we are back in Palm Springs, Hiker's Hippie Hollow would be our first choice for places to stay.
Never saw Jon the host but he was very quick to respond to messages.
This was our first experience with AirBnB, a most pleasant one, indeed. The "casita" is nestled in an arroyo below the main house. It is very small and quite charming with a nice deck for relaxing. The accommodation was clean, neat and quite adequate, with TV, radio, WiFi, coffee, AC. The bed was comfortable. It presented "as advertised" in our opinion. We enjoyed the quiet setting and the proximity to downtown P.S. We did not meet our host, but he promptly contacted us and answered all our questions via email.
Jon was absolutely a wonderful host. Very accommodating to our needs during our stay. Great private location. Close to Downtown Palm Springs.
Will definitely stay again.
Jon was a great guest. Very easy to host! I hope he comes back soon!!
