Happily floating in Sausalito.
Perfect stay. David and Josephine are amazing hosts and make sure to cater to their guest's every need while staying on the 'Terrapin'. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They are the sweetest hosts and I only hope I can return to Sausalito and stay on their boat once again :)
What a host! David was instrumental in executing my logistically complicated Valentine's Day surprise - I can't recommend him enough!
David is a prompt communicator (which made me feel confident throughout the process), goes out of his way to make sure everything goes off without a hitch, and is generally just invested in your happiness as a guest. For my trip, he met me in SF the wkd before to discuss details (and also just get to know him as a person - he's a great guy), picked up my bags in the city the day before so we wouldn't have to carry them on the ferry or to dinner (again helping w/the surprise), and helped coordinate with me to have candles and rose petals and champagne and chocolate strawberries on the boat when we got there.
Chocolate f$*I@ strawberries. Just think about that. What more could you really ask for in a host?
My girlfriend can't thank you enough :)
Just loved the tugboat "Terrapin"! My sister and I stayed there and had a ball. Great location, very cosy and so different! David was immensely agreeable and helpful. We loved getting cappuccino and fresh hot croissants in the morning from le Garage, a great French restaurant footsteps away, not to mention great dinners there. Walking around the shore to downtown Sausalito was so picturesque. It was a real treat, and what bragging rights! Oh, you stayed in a hotel? How boring! We prefer a 100 year old barge in Sausalito!
Excellent one night stay. Something different but with good access to restaurants etc. Dave could not be a better host. The boat is as advertised - clean, cozy and eclectic.
Really enjoyed our stay on the boat at the end of our recent trip to CF. David is a great cool guy and made sure we had everything we needed and gave us plenty of advice where to go what to do etc. I think on reflection a four day stay was a bit too long considering the small space on board but dont let that deter you its a really nice little bit of maritime history to enjoy ans Sausilito and surrounding areas brilliant. Dont forget to go to Sushi Ran to get excellent Japanese food.
David--and his tugboat--were everything we could have hoped for in a host and a great place to stay. Great thought-provoking conversationalist, he immediately put us at ease and set a great tone for the rest of our weekend. David puts a lot of thought into making sure his guests enjoy their experience, from getting special things for the boat to recommending local places to eat, drink and visit--Le Garage, which you can see right across the way from the boat, was great for both dinner and coffee/croissants in the morning, which you can eat at the bar as the restaurant gets ready for brunch. Even in the middle of December, Terrapin was cozy and lovely. I would recommend staying here in a heartbeat, especially for a special occasion.
Had a wonderful time very romantic , but the space heater kept us very cold.
I booked a weekend for my parents who LOVED their stay with David. Not only is the boat an amazing place to stay, David was so helpful and accommodating that my parents still talk about it and have told the whole family! David knows how the Airbnb community works and we're so glad to have made this reservation with him!
We had the best stay in this perfect tugboat. The winds were up the night we were there, and the gentle rocking was suberb. We both slept like babies in this sweet cozy boat. Definitely will want to check in again soon. David is a great host!
We had a fantastic night on the tugboat, and David helped make the stay a memorable one. While quaint on the outside, the inside of the boat was larger than I expected with a nice living space, large bed, and outdoor deck. David met us at the dock, showed us around, and shared recommendations of nearby restaurants and bars to check out. It was quiet, comfortable, and warm throughout the night, and the boat really only rocked when we got on or off of it. Le Garage next door had an excellent brunch, and there's a million other good spots to eat, hike, kayak, and explore within walking distance.
