Couldn't have asked for a better host or a better place to stay. Rachel and her roommate James were very welcoming and friendly, the room was comfortable and the location was perfect with easy metro access. Had a great weekend while I was here.
I had a great time staying at Rachel's! She and her roommate were kind hosts. The neighborhood was nice since I was looking to get away from the touristy type setting you would get in Manhattan. I loved the decorations in my room, as well as around the house. The perks of living with an artist. Haha.
We liked the time at Rachels place a lot! She is a totally relaxed and nice person. We already felt like home in the first night:) Also her permanent room mate is a real sweatheard... The small bedroom was not too small for two. It was just cozy and warm. The shower worked perfectly...
Bushwick is a special place to explore! If you dont't look for the shiny site of NY, if you want to see how real life is going on, than you are right in Bushwick-close to Downtown Manhattan- it is like another "real" world. We are looking forward to come back. Just to have a delicious brownie at the Sky Town Restaurant:)-It is working like an open office space for all the young creatives, living in bushwick. Great and interesting people!
Rachel was a great host. Nice apartment. Convenient location and clean furnishings. The room was quiet. I had a good couple of nights sleep. I would stay there again --without hesitation.
Rachel, her roommate, and Penny (the dog) were super friendly and helpful. Rachel took my late reservation with no problem and was to quick to reply to my questions. Neighborhood is cool, and I love some of the cafés and bars nearby. Train access to Manhattan is great too, at least on weekdays.
Would definitely recommend the carriage house to anyone.
My partner Shea and I had a lovely time hanging out with Rachel, which was an added plus to our very cold weekend in NYC. This made the fact that the room was toasty and cozy.
The energy was very laid back, something that the two of us are very much about when we are not working.
Rachel was helpful with our getting around Brooklyn and into Queens and Manhattan (And her little dog too!) We had a very nice time.
Thank you Rachel.. Yust Lundberg aka the faery king
A localização da casa e excelente, a poucos metros no metro e do supermercado. Rachel foi uma excêntrico anfitriã e a casa muito confortável.
Very hospitable hosts. Friendly pup. Easy access to public transportation. Fun location. Clean room. What more is there to say? Thanks!
The place was close to everything, and made our stay in Brooklyn a delight. Everyone at the house was polite, helpful, and a pleasure to stay with. I recommend this listing for the true Bushwick experience.
This is an awesome place to stay. Super comfortable bed and convinient location(it's just a couple of blocks from the subway and there's lots of shops and things around) but almsot no street noise. The place itself is cozy and cool, Rachel and James were both really friendly and helpful. My only reservation might be if you're super afraid of dogs as Rachel's dog did bark at us quite a bit the first night when we came in but she's a total lovebug and this place is awesome!
What a lovely guest. Rachel was an awesome addition to my home of couchsurfers. She fit right in and hung out with everybody - kept us laughing and intrigued. She left the room in perfect shape and I couldn't have asked for a more considerate and enjoyable guest. My door is always open to her.
R was a pleasure to host. She left the place in tip top shape . Welcome back anytime.
Rachel is awesome! I've stayed with her a bunch of times and loved every minute of it! She's a great host, knows the area(s) well, very accommodating and helpful.
When I stayed with her the first time in Brooklyn she was kind enough to meet me at the subway at 5AM after a long flight and walk me to her place. And even after that she was super helpful in showing me around the next day. If you're looking for a great place/person to stay with, go with her.
I met Rachel in 2008, when we were both starting grad school. She is fun, enthusiastic, and reliable. She is also very willing to offer her help--she lugged moving books for me from Baltimore to New York!
I've known Rachel for about five years now and have slept over at both of her Brooklyn and DC residences. She always made sure I was comfortable with clean sheets and a cozy bed. Rachel's a lovely person and its always a pleasure to stay overnight when I visit!
I know Rachel through many years of school, some working together, and actually living together for a bit. She and I lived in this apartment and fixed up some things a few years ago. It is a great little place.
I would call Rachel's style eclectic and interesting, colorful...She is always interested in trying new things and has a lot of positive energy.
Rachel has always been a very attentive and accommodating host. She is straight forward and honest about plans and details. If there ever is a conflict she is totally willing to work it out and find the solution.
I met Rachel in 2005 when I hired her to babysit my two children. She was reliable and did the job well. We became friends and have kept in touch. If her cute room in Bushwick is anything like her place in the DC area, I'm sure that you will enjoy your stay there.
Rachel has a great room in a funky carriage house in Bushwick, super close to the JMZ (and you could walk into Williamsburg if you felt like a hike). Rachelis super-attentive to all the details - I'm an idiot with keys and she prepped me with everything. Would definitely recommend Rachel's space!
