Heather's cottage is a hidden paradise! Set in a little village atop a hill thick with sub-tropical vegetation, it's a hideaway with easy access to the ferry and the world beyond (so long as you don't mind the short climb up the hill!) We had a working holiday there, commuting into Central and, between times, relaxing in the cottage or wandering around the island. Lamma is blissfully free of cars and the only thing to bother you is the occasional 2-stroke tractor or exotic creepy-crawly. The cottage itself is a delight - clearly the work of an artist, stylish and comfortable. And if the weather's friendly you can spend most of your time lounging around on the huge roof terrace. Heather was there to greet us when we arrived and made us feel completely at home. We're looking forward to our next visit!
Lovely house. Thank you Heather! Love the big painting and bookshelf in the seating room. Did't get a chance to use the roof at evening as raining most of the time but had breakfast up there. The island was so lovely, we were soon missed it. Comfy shoes for lots walk on the island. If visiting HK again would certainly rent Heather's house again!
Lamma island is amazing, and this house was a perfect spot to be for the weekend. The location is a short uphill walk from the ferry and town of Yung Shue Wan. Lamma has many visitors on the weekends, so it was nice to be off the main street of Yung Shue Wan. Everything in the house was as-expected -- very nice to have Air Conditioning and wireless internet, not to mention the full kitchen (which I didn't get a chance to fully enjoy) and roof-top patio and BBQ. I would certainly come back for another stay.
This place is just great. There was nothing we could have missed and the roof top is amazing! Is was a perfect stay, everything went well and I would always go again. Thanks Heather :)
The house is amazing, and quite spacious. It was well decorated, and contained a lot of useful pieces of equipment (ipod dock, kitchenware, a variety of chargers)
it is a ten minute walk from the ferry terminal, but it is worthwhile. we had some difficulty with the directions, so it would be handy to have a map included in our introductory email.
We had a fantastic time. Thanks Heather!
Really nice house, very nice owner. Lamma is really a relaxing place that my sisters and I really got an awesome holiday there :) I would like to be back if I got a holiday again in Hong Kong :)
Very lovely place for a getaway with friends. Prepare to walk uphill a bit, not far from the pier but with a tranquil and green surroundings. Heather was very hospitable, mosquito coils, candles, loads of dishes and cups ready for a big party. Spacious rooftop wonderful for chilling out with friends, the only thing needed for improvement was the two sofa beds not cleaned, would be nice if we could lie on the sofa beds and enjoy the night breeze.
Our stay on Lamma Island was great. The house was amazing. Really comfortable and the host stocked it with beer and wine and coffee and fruit and snacks. We were able to use the BBQ and beach towels and mats. Truly the perfect place to stay!
