Tim welcomed us and was very helpful with information about Stratford. The private room was perfect for me and my two children as most accommodations sleeps only two people. It is located in the top room and up some very narrow stairway so really not suitable if you have large pieces of luggage (which we didn't). The location is perfect, we could walk everywhere. We saw the evening performance of Othello and it was excellent. We felt very safe walking back late at night. The breakfast was delicious, though a little on the early side (my children slept through breakfast because it was only till 8.45 am).
Ours was a flying one-night visit through Stratford-upon-Avon en route to visit relatives nearby. We were warmly welcomed by Tim and shown to our first floor room overlooking the street. Our double room at Virginia Lodge was not large but comfortable with a decent en-suite shower room and, although the street is busy during the day, it’s very quiet at night. The guest house is an easy walk into the centre of town and there is a car park (shared with other guest houses) a short walk away. Virginia Lodge is popular with other guests who visit several times a year to attend Royal Shakespeare Company performances. We hope to make a longer visit to Stratford in the not-too-distant future and Virginia Lodge will be our first choice of accommodation.
Lovely hosts, comfortable bed, nice bedding. Impeccably clean. Virginia Lodge is conveniently located for most attractions, and has guest parking facilities...a major plus. Highly recommended.
Good, traditional B&B in a great location. Tim v hospitable, plenty of advice on tap if needed. Fairly old fashioned in style and every room has unique design. Our room was the more old fashioned 4 poster. The room would have felt more spacious and brighter with a regular bed but not overly detrimental. The only minor whinge was the lack of a simple small shelf in the shower for ease of access to toiletries (no doubt the sort of thing that's only a niggle for women!) Good free wifi throughout, & bearing in mind the house is on a busy road the soundproofing is excellent.
Recommended improvements - bottle of water in room, fan on hot days (as a little too noisy to keep window open at night), and shower niggle as above.
Top marks for great breakfast, efficient pre-ordering system, peace & quiet, wifi & location ... 10 mins stroll to RSC, river & shops.
We left a piece of luggage in the parking lot. Thank goodness Tim found it and brought it in. It was so beastly hot the day we stayed here- unfortunately nothing a host can do to control the weather! There is very easy access to downtown area by walking. Depending on the time of day, it can be hard to get in and out of parking lot because of the traffic but there is plenty of room to park once you get in. Thanks for the hearty breakfast.
It was a nice stay with Tim. The provide a range of fantastic breakfast with coffee. Tim also gave us advices on things to do in town and that was rather helpful. I would definitely recommend Tim's lodge.
Lovely small room in an ideal location. The building was found in area around other group houses, but ok. The shower on our occasion was cold, something to do with a faulty switch.
Very pleasant stay. Clean, well furnished room. Small but fine. Good no frills breakfast. Easy walk to town. Very good value for money.

Tim was very pleasant and provided good ideas as to what tourist from Australia would like to see. The accommodation was excellent, location was excellent, we wil recommend this place to other people.
