I'm an American, living in Osaka, Japan, engaged to a wonderful Chinese girl. We both really love travelling, dogs, and food (especially street food.)

We had a very pleasant stay at the place. Communication with Jesse is very clear. Jesse organised direction instructions and the welcome pack well. We felt welcome and relaxed when arrived there. The house is spacious, cozy and everything is in good condition. Moreover, the location is conveniently accessed, served with many buses and trains and within walking distance to famous Nishiki market, restaurants, shopping malls, Gion district. We'd definitely like to stay again!!
After we left Jesse 's room we went to Tokyo for 5 more days and we which Jesse has a room in Tokyo too !!! Jesse's room was really awesome. We slept there for four night and I 'm telling you that had dinner and a drink at the balcony is so great we did that every night. One night we asked Jesse to take us out for a dinner and he did that . We had a very goodtime so much fun and what a funny man he is ! We sure gonna stay here again if we ever got back to Osaka !!!
Jesse was a perfect host and came to meet us on the way to the apartment to ensure that we got there correctly. It was down a little lane way but his directions were very easy to follow and accurate. The apartment was great, the layout was very good for two people and had everything that you needed to stay there for a few days. There were great restaurants around the neighbourhood and the centre of town was only a short train ride or a 30 min (max) walk. I would highly recommend staying here, especially if you are a pair of friends travelling together and want separate rooms.
We had a great stay in the apartment. It's location is great, just off the main shopping st with plenty of shops and restaurants within a few mins walk. The place was nice and clean and Jesse very helpful. The portable wifi was also a nice touch.
Jesse was a very welcoming and helpful host. He definitely knows Kyoto and can recommend places to eat, drink and visit. We went out for beers and dinner the last night I was in Kyoto and had a blast.
The place is exactly like it appears in the photos - it has a kitchen, bathroom and shower on the first floor, bedroom on the second floor and living room on the third floor. I think I was the first visitor there so it was freshly (website hidden) heaters keep it warm in the winter (I was there in February). I think the only issue is that it's a bit inconvenient to go up and down stairs to get between the bedroom and bathroom, but it's not a major issue.
It's about a 30-minute walk (or two train stops) from Gion and pretty central to getting around by bus or train to the best shrines. Perfect for a single visitor or couple, and can be turned into a two bedroom if needed, though for larger parties I think Jesse has a 3-bedroom that's more spacious.
Jesse was very helpful during our trip to Kyoto. The house is super cozy with a large comfortable area and a fantastic location which have easy access to subway and bus station that were one street across from the house.
The house has loads of space to hold up more than 6 ppl and it was a great arrangement for Jesse with setting up futon and advice for traveling around the city.
We could not ask for a better place for us to stay which make our trip much wonderful.
Lee all have a good time and I am pretty sure will visit the place and Jesse again in the future. Totally recommend jesse and his place to everyone.
We really enjoyed our stay in Jesse's house which located in a quiet and nice neighbourhood. The house is grand and clean, just as the pictures in the profile. The location is perfect, 5 minutes walk to Shijo Station 3 minutes to bus stop. The host left us some tour guides and restaurant recommendation. The house made our stay in Kyoto perfect, thanks a lot, Mr. and Mrs. Schlaud.
Jesse was very helpful leading up to and during our stay at Kyoto. He recommended some great restaurants, interesting bars and local attractions. The house was quite large and comfortable, however it was a little cold (we visited in January) the heaters in the bedrooms were great, but some of the communal areas were a little nippy! In saying that, we had a really good time and totally recommend Jesse and his place.
Jesse and his fiancee, now wife! were here for their wedding so kept quite busy. I met them upon arrival. Nice couple. Communication with Jesse was very smooth and easy.
Great guests. Highly recommended.
