From Illinois. Lover of food, travel, music, colors and good conversation.
We had a great time there, we were in town for our daughters birthday and family weekend at mo. state. The loft makes you feel right at home. Andrea is great. Thanks again.
Really awesome place great location. Awesome record player! Great host, the host was very knowledgeable about things to see and do and eat!! Again great location! Had an awesome time want to go back soon!!!
We had a fabulous night! The loft is awesome and the people super nice! We loved Springfield, too!
Andrea was a terrific host. She replied quickly to all of my questions, and she was flexible when my flight was delayed. The Loft was a great place to stay. It's more like a New York City loft than anything you'd expect in Springfield, MO--tall windows, exposed brick, lots of great colors and textures. Big Momma's coffee shop is below the loft, and it was a great place to grab a breakfast burrito and coffee before heading out for the day. I would definitely recommend the Loft on Commercial St. to anyone headed to Springfield.
OMG. Anne and Andrea were the coolest hosts. I didn't get to interact with them much, but Anne made check in quite smooth and Andrea was around when I was checking out.
Anne and Andrea work at Mama Jeans natural foods and I suspect that might be why they have the best variety of bathroom products I have ever encountered. I left with a list of things I need to buy. (Ex: Burts bees color keeper fennel seed shampoo, Fruit enzyme mask! O_O)
The apartment is beautifully decorated, the pictures do it no justice. It comes with an arial yoga swing, a guitar, and a cool view of the trains going by.
Only rough part was Commercial street not having much night-life Sunday night.. (as in nothing going on at all, tumbleweeds might as well have been tumbling through the street). I suppose the busier part of town would have been by the square, but this location was very centrally located nonetheless. (Above a coffee shop, so food/coffee was close by)
The loft I always wanted! Andrea was amazingly quick to respond to my short notice for a place to stay in Springfield. Everything the other reviewer's had said is true. The coffee shop downstairs, the ambience and the friendliness of not only Andrea, her friends and all the people I met.
Not only do I highly recommend this as a respite in your journey, but I will definitely be back for a longer stay.
Andrea's apartment may well be a separate, hidden art district on Commercial street in Springfield. Inside guitars, records, and artwork litter the room while maintaining the sense that everything is in a carefully selected place. Filtering in from outside are the sounds of live music, people socializing, and trains lumbering down the tracks. Downstairs is a coffee shop—a real coffee shop—where you can listen to local bands or linger in a corner with your electronics and newspapers. Coming from Fort Wood, it was a pleasure to be somewhere that looks, feels, and sounds alive.
Things began to get quiet around 9, and I responded by heading upstairs to sleep while a breeze washed over me through the enormous living room windows. Next time I hope to stay more than a few hours so that I can learn more about my eclectic host and explore the surrounding area. I'm told there is an independent film theater worth checking out, and the popularity of gastropubs seems to be increasing in the area.
We will definitely be back!
Wonderful stay!! Beautifully decorated, lovely coffee shop below the loft, and very close to everything!! Excellent hosts!
My friend and I had a wonderful time staying in Andrea's place. That apartment itself is well situated close to some great bars and restaurants and not far from the downtown area.
Springfield itself is a cool town, loads of independent stores and places to eat and very friendly residents.
Andrea was a great host and was very friendly and welcoming when she showed us round the place. She and her boyfriend suggested a great place for us to eat, Grad School (if you stay here you should check it out)
Everything was clean and tidy and well presented. I would highly recommend both this property to stay in and Andrea as a host.
This is everything that Airbnb should be: nice people and good places to stay.
A brilliant experience
We arranged our stay on short notice, as we traveled from Michigan to Texas for the holidays. Andrea was very helpful and responsive leading up to our arrival, making sure we knew where to go. We stayed in Andrea's new location on Commercial Street, which was a very comfortable, eclectic space. It definitely has the feel of an urban/college loft, but for our family, much more fun and interesting than a boring hotel. The coffee shop downstairs is fantastic--try any of the baked goods! Thanks Andrea!
Andrea and Anne were great guests. We only hosted for one night, so our time together was short!
I has a great experience hosting Andrea. Very sweet, Clean and respectful guest.
andrea is a wonderfully cheerful and happy person, a superb flatmate and great person to hang out with, share ideas, meals and conversations. it was very easy to organize her stay. communication was easy before arriving and while staying by text and email. by the way, she is a great cook and prepared delicious meals. was great fun having her here and i highly recommend having her as a guest.
