Caroline could not have been more welcoming and hospitable. Her house is elegant, homely and overgrown; it made me feel entirely at home. Very many thanks.
Fabulous house, full of history and character. Caroline was the perfect host, made us feel welcome, helped us during our stay and cooked a terrific and much needed breakfast. Very quiet, out of the way location, in a small town that has one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever visited (and I'm been to a lot). If you are bored with regular motels or hotels, and want something very different, then you won't be disappointed.
Caroline is a wonderful host who makes you feel at home. The house is very large and spacious, elegant with old world charm. It is enchanting to return after a busy day to find the fire lit in the library and a cup of tea waiting for you. There are many country walks in the immediate area. Leixlip is just down the road and there are many restaurants and pubs ranging from takeaways to quality dining. I have stayed here a few times and will unhesitatingly stay here again.
Caroline is a lovely, considerate host who makes you feel instantly at home. The house is big and comfortably furnished, my room was perfectly heated and the bed very comfortable, I slept like a log! Leixlip village is within easy walking distance and has all necessary amenities.
Bij aankomst was Caroline erg hartelijk.
De kamer zag er precies zo uit, als op de foto, evenals de badkamer. De buurt kende ik al, daar mijn zoon in Leixlip werkt, en ik al eerder op bezoek was bij hem
After some crossed wires re: our arrival, we were given a very warm welcome by Caroline and spent a comfortable night in her fascinating home. We chose this lodging, because of the Georgian house and the glorious creative shot of the wonderful living room, and were not disappointed. If you want boutique hotel order and a spotless interior, this is not for you. What you get is a very peaceful environment, a comfortable bed, charm and character, and an excellent breakfast.
We had a wonderful time at Caroline's. Her house is gorgeous, the bedroom comfortable and the breakfast delicious. Besides, it's close to Dublin by car or by bus as the bus stop is only a couple of minutes away, but is located in a quiet area.
We were in Leixlip for a wedding and absolutely loved the unique location and atmosphere of Caroline's home. Communication was excellent and she was very understanding when we arrived a bit later than expected. Our room was ensuite, large and bright, and with lovely clean linen. Like the whole house, it oozed charm in every detail. Staying with Caroline made me feel like I was visiting a beloved aunt with a chocolate box house full of treasure to explore. Breakfast was delicious and eaten in a properly palatial dining room.
I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a truly unique experience. We use Airbnb because we seek out unusual experiences and characterful homes, and the Georgian splendour of this property ranks highly with us.
Caroline is a very please hosts. Alway ready to help us. The house is very surprising : it is an old house with a real history.
The house would just need to be refreshed.
