Our stay with Paulo was amazing. His place is in a lovely and safe neighbourhood - quiet but with 'life' when you need it.
(put it this way - when you need to sleep - you can! but when you want a bit of action it's there too)
great location when it comes to transport - just round the corner is the subway station for the F & G train. You can pretty much get anywhere you want to go in NYC with minimal train changes (for us we only needed the F&G during our entire stay - so was IDEAL)
great restaurants around him too - if you're not from the US...(like us) USE YELP to help you find great restaurants/shops/nail salons etc
Metro PSC is just around from him where you can pick up the cheapest mobile plan deal...which you WILL NEED for MAPS!!
you have your own private washing machine/dryer too - WHICH IS ICING ON THE CAKE - no waiting in a laundromat (although there is one right around the corner)
What you see in Paulo's photos is what you'll get!
(unlike a few other listings you may see online). we were absolutely chuffed with what we saw on arrival. couldn't have asked for better!
For those travelling in summer - his air con works a dream!
Paulo is a great host - was quick to help us out when we needed to but leaves you to do your own thing. HIGHLY recommend.
The apartment was clean, efficient and comfortable. Close access to restaurants, subway, and shops. Quiet sleeping and nice courtyard balcony. No TV but the computer kept me informed of the news. Overall stay was nice.
I booked Paulo's apartment for my mother to stay in for a week. I live nearby in Boerum Hill so I was familiar with the area. Paulo's apartment has a lovely balcony overlooking the backyard which provides a nice relaxing haven; at the same time, he is super conveniently located to all the amenities of Smith Street. The apartment is spacious and clean, and Paulo was a lovely and considerate host. Book his place if it's available! Perfect for singles or couples visiting.
Paul's house was amazingly tucked into the beauty of Brooklyn. Smith street is right at the corner and that strip has everything you ever need to have a beautiful vacation. Wifi and computer in the house will make you not even notice there's no tv. You won't even need a tv with the serenity of the balcony. His house was beautiful and I hope to stay again.
Highly recommended. A great apartment, very clean. The sleeping area is in the back, which makes it very quiet. The back overlooks a beautifully lush courtyard, and there's a little sitting area to have coffee, breakfast, or a drink.
The location is fantastic, half a block from Smith St., so there is quick access to the shopping, bars, and restaurants on that street, not to mention other great places on Hoyt, Bond, and Court. Great area to walk around. The Bergen St. subway is just a couple of blocks away, which can take you into Manhattan or into Brooklyn areas like Park Slope. A short walk to the Hoyt - Schermerhorn metro will let you catch the A train into the city, which is an express.
Paulo was very communicative; he really wanted to make the experience a good one. He (email hidden) about the apartment and amenities open on his computer. He also provided some suggestions, cards, and menus for some of the great restaurants and bakeries nearby. He was very flexible with the key pickup.
I would not hesitate to stay at this apartment again. Thanks, Paulo!
