Staying at the Abbey was a real treat for all of us, we are so glad to have found it. Ippolita and her family were very welcoming and continued to be really helpful and hospitable throughout our week long stay. The Medieval Tower and the Abbey are very special, peaceful places. We enjoyed the beautiful and tranquil countryside and the amazing views from the roof terrace. There are also many things to do in the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed our visits to Tarquinia and Calpalbio and our trips to the beautiful sandy beach at Chiarone. It was a wonderfully relaxing week and we hope to go back before too long!
The tower was the highlight of our trip to Italy. If u can drive, it's absolutely worth the ride out into the countryside around Tuscania for this historical Abbey which has been painstakingly restored by Mauro and is carefully attended to by his family. Ippolita made us feel like family and we felt right at home in the tower. We went for a walk in the countryside and were accompanied by the dogs and cats everywhere we went. This is almost the perfect airbnb experience and really worth the detour from the usual destinations in Italy. We can't wait to come back to stay!
So beautiful and atmospheric! We experienced a relaxing week at San Giusto and loved walks around the abbey, fabulous breakfasts, and very quiet nights. Our room was furnished with lovely antiques tastefully mixed with contemporary, beautiful views from the windows, and the interesting little town of Tuscania was a short drive away. Our charming hosts, Ipollita and Simone were so helpful with travel suggestions and stories. I hope to return,
