We had a great time at Marion's place! We spent each holiday season in a East Bay sublet and this has been the best place to date. Here are some highlights:
1. Location: We enjoyed the proximity to BART, Berkeley Bowl, and easy access to the freeways (connects (phone number hidden), and Bay Bridge!). The neighborhood is quiet and we felt safe throughout the stay. There is no grocery store nearby but they're a short drive or bus ride away.
2. House: There is so much space! One of us needed a quiet space to study for board exam and she had no problem finding a quiet spot in the house while the rest of us carry on a conversation. Otherwise the house is very clean and well furnished. There is no real TV but who watches TV these days? Internet connection is very fast (10Mbps+). There is no clothes dryer but a coin laundry is within a 10-minute walk.
3. Host: Marion is very friendly and responsive. She was not around during our stay, but checked in with us via email throughout our stay. When the internet was down briefly, she responded to my email immediately and resolved the issue with AT&T within hours :)
We enjoyed our stay tremendously and will not hesitate to recommend it to anyone! We look forward to staying here again~
Marion's place is very comfortable, though fairly Spartan, with very good space--and the kitchen is particularly pleasant and well-equipped. The apples, strawberries and tomatoes growing in the backyard are all very tasty as well. Very convenient location also, with a number of good food shopping/restaurant options within easy/moderate walking distance. Limited dresser space though, so you'll be living out of your luggage.
This was a true Bay area experience. Her place is exactly as advertized. She gets back to you in a quick manner. My twin boys even damaged some of her books, and she was very fair and understanding in the whole exchange. I would highly recommend it for couples especially willing to take public transport. She does not have good TV, but her book selection is very amazing. Perfect to stay while you enjoy the bay area. Great price for what she offers.
I had a great stay at Marion's house. You have great access to public transportation to Berkeley or San Francisco. There's a huge supermarket nearby where you can find everything you could possibly imagine :-)... I really recommend staying at her pace!
My stay with my family was great ! The house is clean, spacious, and very well located (close to transportations and good grocery shopping). The garden is nice, the kitchen has everything we needed... and the price was incredibly reasonable. We couldn't have hoped for better !
We had a great stay at Marion's house! It is a beautiful charming house with a wonderful host.
Marion was very helpful, amicable with a great sense of humor and she just made us feel at home. We were also welcome to use the livingroom, the kitchen and the garden. It is a good option to stay in Oakland (nice neighborhood) and take the nearby BART or rent a bike to discover downtown San Francisco.
We spent 2 nights at Marion's place but the majority of time we were in San Francisco. We could easily reach downtown by BART (which was 5 minutes drive from her place, parking was easy and for free) and the apartment was perfect for our needs. Nice neighbourhood.
Marion was easy to reach and answered all our messages immediatelly so the organisation of our staying there was perfect.
Our stay with Marion was easy and stress free. Marion's home was spacious, clean, and eco-friendly. The room was comfortable, and she left most of the house open to us to use at our discretion. Marion gave us plenty of privacy but made herself available every night in case we had questions. The kitchen is modern and includes updated appliances. We would definitely stay with Marion again should the need arise.
Marion was very accomodating and pleasant. Room is rather small. Great location for visiting our daughter one mile away!
When my friend and I moved to the Bay Area from Minnesota, we decided to stay at Marion's place for a month. She was very accommodating and made us feel right at home. She allowed us to use the entire house -- the grill, the kitchen, the backyard, etc. -- which was really helpful since we were staying there for so long. We also had a great time talking to Marion and getting to know her while we were there. Sometimes we'd forget to lock the door on the way out, but she was understanding of our forgetfulness.
Marion is a great guest who also have experience with being a host on airbnb. She is great company, got along well with my other guests and is tidy and respectful. I can recommend her as a guest, and I am sure she is a great hostess, too.
A great person to host.
She was very friendly and very easy to communicate with prior to her arrival, and she also texted from the airport train when the arrival was a bit late , which made things very easy for me.
She also left the place very tidy. Great guest, I´d definitely host her again :-)
Marion was very nice guest, she had good sense of humor and interesting insights about Norway. She is easy going, flexible, clean and interesting.
See you next time.
Marion was a great guest! So quiet we never knew if she was here or not! She kept the Coconut clean and tidy and was very respectful of the house rules. We recommend her to any Airbnb host! Mahalo!
Marion was an excellent guest. She was clean, quiet, respectful and everything else you'd like in someone that is coming in to your home. We had a great time talking around the table learning about all kinds of stuff. We took her to the top of the mountain to get some cool sunset photos, hopefully they turned out well. Even took her surfing although the waves were really small. I highly recommend hosting Marion or staying with Marion as she embodies the airbnb spirit. We wish he luck on the rest of her journey in Hawaii.
Marion stayed at my flat for a few days. She is very social and tidy. She also speaks very good Norwegian! I can highly recommend her to other hosts.
