Kevin and Dana were perfect hosts! The boat is exactly as described, and everything else was an added bonus. The kayaks, hammocks, snorkeling gear, etc. were all easily accessible, and the area is very conveniently located. Kevin was really great at recommending places for anything that we were looking for locally, and very knowledgeable about the entire keys setup. We had such a wonderful experience and would recommend Kevin and Dana's place to stay very much!
Nous avons été très bien accueillis dans ce lieu qui correspond parfaitement à la description. Des vacances de rêve! !!
Kevin and Dana were great hosts, they made made us feel at home from the start. The boat was just as described, cozy, and romantic. A very camping like experience. The location was paradisiac, we made good use of the kayaks at our disposal, Kevin took us on a sunset cruise. The property is well maintained, charming and offers beautiful views. We definitely recommend anybody looking for idyllic getaway to book this accommodation
Kevin and Dana are perfect hosts; everything was ready to use. The (sail-)boat we got was a little bit disappointing itself; the bed was a very thin layer on a wooden plate and too short (for me). There seemed to be another larger boat for rent.
Kevin and Dana were in the yard working when we arrived. They immediately stopped what they were doing, gave us a warm welcome and a detailed tour of the grounds and our efficiency. They also suggested wonderful restaurants, things to do and advice on Key West and fishing.
Kevin and Dana were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and considerate. The boat was exactly as advertised and is a very nice place to relax. Even though it was very windy during our stay, we slept very well! We could use the garden with hammocks and bbq, the bikes and kayak and snorkel gear. There is even a coffee maker on board. We definitely recommend this place and would love to come back!
The experience was great. The location was nice, quiet, and picturesque, and Kevin and Dana were friendly and fantastic hosts. Kevin was flexible on one of his policies to accommodate us on the calendar. While we stayed there he provided great information and stories, and even cut up a couple of coconuts at our request so we could try them. The houses were relaxing and spacious, and I wish we could've stayed longer.
"Best of Both Worlds" was the right choice for us -- Lower Islamorada is really ideally situated half-way-ish down the Keys, and we greatly appreciated the comparative quiet and serenity of the site. First and foremost, Kevin seemed patient with what were probably far too many questions, and offered a wealth of comprehensive answers with much-appreciated advice about the local "thing". Dana went above and beyond to help make our third honeymoon memorable with some special, pre-arranged touches ... thanks again, Dana. We were in the efficiency for just over a week. Believe me, being well-away from the Overseas Highway is a blessing. Our room was comfy, utilitarian, with a great bed, and felt reasonably private. Our neighbors immediately adjacent were quiet as mice (or mouses or meeces or mooses.) Considering that the property is relatively narrow, we rarely even heard sounds from neighboring properties. Our hosts obviously work hard at keeping the place neat and clean. While "Best of Both Worlds" seems slightly dated, and has some slightly worn passage-of-time edges, you're definitely in the Florida Keys, and there's a groovy funkiness that worked great for us. The seawall and little boat basin are the prize. Even tho the weather could have been better, we really enjoyed being out on the bayshore, gazing into the superb beauty of the Bay. We had a sweet paddle on one of the kayaks, and took a bit of sun when the W-I-N-D wasn't pushy. Stepping back from man's overwhelming influences and getting as glimpse of the natural beauty of the Keys is a gift on this narrow archipelago. Having the toys available to stay out of the car is a great bonus and should be taken advantage of to enrich your Keys experience. We did the Key West thing, we did the glass-bottom boat at Pennecamp thing (surprisingly enjoyable, for a cattle-boat), we did the tarpon-feeding thing, and, perhaps the most profound, the bird rehabilitation center up the road, and the sea turtle hospital down in Marathon. The efforts of the folks so deeply involved in these endeavors will certainly tug at your heart-strings ... One thing that we found a bit strange was the perceived caliber of the dining establishments we sampled in the Florida Keys Tourist Paradise: lunch at Habanos (several times) was the only leisurely dining experience we had. Every place else, no matter how "fancy" or "high-brow" (read: expensive) was rush-rush-rush, get 'em in and get 'em out. Not exactly my expectation for fine dining. Anyway, back to "Best of Both Worlds" -- enjoy your visit. It just feels genuine! Thanks to Dana and Kevin for keeping it real.
the most interesting experience you can have in Miami, KAYAKING is very exciting, and also you can barbeque there, they just provide you with everything you need there. Even provide their own room for us to dine.
Greatest place, very beautiful scence and only half an hour to the Sombrore Beach and 10 min from the greatest Lazy Day Restraunt to enjoy the Lobster Dishes.
Recommendation for those looking for a fine and cosy holiday!!!
We loved being right on the water, with boats and fish and snorkeling almost at our front door. The cottage was very clean, and had everything we needed to cook our simple meals. Kevin was right there to answer all our questions and to make sure everything was in order. We enjoyed hearing of Kevin's experiences in animal training.
We will definitely return!
