Unfortunately, Eva contacted me after 1am the day of departure to request a late check out. I would have loved to accommodate her request but it was simply too late at that point. I had already set meetings, appointments and transitioning other guests and all required for that including cleaning for that day. A bit of consideration and pre planning goes a long way.
Offering the locker was merely a solution to a problem that I saw that she had and needed help solving. I think the actual solution is to plan ahead, not by much, just a day or so, to give someone some notice to change their life around so she can go shopping before she left. Not a terribly request.
As far as cleaning goes, I had a cleaning crew come through the apartment and clean prior to their arrival and upon their departure, which is a big reason why I needed more than a few hours notice before they leave for a late check out. It's not just me they'd be impacting but a cleaning crew and other guests. I clean throughout the stay but clearly there is such a thing as cleaning up behind yourself. Clearly, Nanny's are not provided as part of the service and therefore can't clean up behind folks all of the time, including but not limited to clogging the sinks, the the shower and leaving hair on the floor. Hair was theme in this stay. They are very nice girls and I had no problem doing some sweeping but should be noted that if Eva expects a cleaning service to come in behind her, instead of a bit of self management, then that is likely a hotel she's looking for, which in NY is about 5-10 times the cost of Airbnb. Yes, this is a service and it's also someone's home... Please, treat it as such.
As far as noise goes.... it's NY and one of the busiest cities in the world. I can't really control that. Ear plugs... perhaps? Which I'll be providing as part of the service in the future.
