Bridget and Krista were amazing hosts! We felt very welcome and at home staying here. The place was very clean, tidy and so comfortable. I will be telling my friends about this place and will be returning for another visit.
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our 2-night stay. Bridget was a terrific host! Very welcoming, warm, and hospitable. The accommodations are accurately described....it felt like home!
The nearby towns of Red Hook and Rhinebeck are wonderful places to visit, dine and walk around, and there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy in the general area.
The Double L Ranch was lovely, quiet very comfortable. Beautiful view from the living room. Wonderful hot shower. Delicious coffee in the morning. Very enjoyable.
Bridget was hands-down, the absolute best host. Firstly, the lodgings were gorgeous and much larger in person, very clean, and I loved that the living room had windows overlooking the horse farm. Secondly, Bridget could not have been nicer—she introduced us to her adorable pets, showed us the space, and then left us to our own devices. It truly felt like home. When I inquired about allowing a knitter-friend (we came for the Sheep & Wool Festival!) to stay in the living room, Bridget acquiesced, no questions asked, and didn't even charge us an additional fee. There were plenty of blankets to snuggle up under and we were allowed to control the temperature of the space. Best of all for someone with a lot of questions, Bridget was the pinnacle of patience and understanding—she kept in constant contact any time I had a question and was very easy to reach.
Did I mention how magical it was to wake up to the sound of horses whinnying in the distance? Love.
The place was much better than the photos and bridget is a kind and welcoming host. Its a great place to stay if you wish to relax and have a good amount of room within which to sojourn. The property is also equally so.... much recommended and priced well.
Bridget was great she made us feel welcome and at home. The space was perfect for our overnight visit. The sitting room was lovely and the place was spotless. The house sits on a beautiful farm with horses in the stable and deer running around on the property. We were interested in biking and the house is a short ride into the town of Red Hook. We also hiked at Tivoli Bays on the grounds of Bard College which was great. Over all a lovely little get away.
Lovely site, lovely suite. We had a wonderful stay and found our hosts to be very generous and hospitable. The rooms were impeccably clean and we had everything we could have wished for. Exceeded our expectations!
This is a beautiful place and the hosts were incredibly sweet. They even bought me brand new toothpaste when I asked if they had any.
TERRIFIC!!! Better than advertised. The hosts were more than welcoming. They redefined hospitality. The ranch was beautiful. If you're an animal lover, they have horse grazing, deer running about, dogs, cat, birds. It was great. Its a very quiet peaceful place. They supplied us with a Keurig coffee maker, min-fridge, plates, silverware, etc. We didn't have to bring a thing. The suite itself was great. Spacious living area, with a TV, Apple TV, free wi-fi, Netflix and more. The bathroom was a very clean, with a full size shower and newer finishings. The bedroom was just the right size, complete with a comfortable queen bed. This was our first experience with a B&B type property and we were completely blow away. We would recommend this property to anyone!! The location was perfect for easy access to downtown Red Hook, Kingston, and Rhinebeck, yet tucked away enough for a peaceful countryside retreat. Your own private entrance and exit is an option, although we didn't even need to use because the hosts were so open and accommodating. We are animal lovers and enjoyed being able to interact with the horses, dogs, cat and even a friendly bird who enjoyed sitting on my head!! If animals aren't your thing, the host is very respectful of that and will not be an issue. Overall, I rate this place a 10 out of 10, and would definitely rent again without hesitation!
excellent accomodations! pictures dont do this place justice... great location close to bard, rhinebeck, red hook village. serene environment - beautiful property. bridget was generous and accomodating - we hope to return soon!
