Lovely accommodation. Just as described. Very cosy and well located. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing weekend away. The hosts were very helpful.
We were met as soon as we arrived and shown around the apartment. Everything was as described, the apartment was clean and warm and well equipped - Sybil explained how everything worked and left us with milk and biscuits to have with tea and coffee that was provided. We felt very comfortable - the apartment was cosy and has amazing views in two directions. The short walk into own can be varied by taking different paths, and an especially quick route to the Abbey. We would stay again - we felt rested even though we had work to do (the internet was reliable and essential). The apartment was quiet and homely and we felt very welcome by the hosts, who were helpful and friendly.
The cosy attic snugly defended us against the blustery October Whitby winds (all the more atmospheric because I was reading Dracula!) It's a short walk from everything and has beautiful views of the harbour mouth and town. A lovely location.
Our hosts were friendly and flexible too. I would definitely recommend this charming and historic garrett!
My daughter and I had a marvellous stay in this delightful flat in one of the best locations in Whitby.
We will be recommending it to friends and family.
Tom and Sybil were very welcoming and helpful during our stay. The information on the airbnb site had accurately described the accommodation, which we found to be very clean, comfortable and well equipped with good WiFi connection. There were great outside sitting areas on the patio and parapet [where we had a good view of a Red Arrows display and the Regatta fireworks]. The house is in a quiet situation, but only a few minutes walk into the centre of town and onto the coastal paths. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here, and hope to return at some point in the future.
A wonderful week in Whitby! Tom and Sybil were excellent hosts and the attic was fantastic. Cosy but with easily enough room for three the balcony offered some excellent views and we were lucky enough to get the weather to sit out there most evenings and look towards the Captain Cook Monument as the sun set. Having a parking space is a real advantage and I would recommend Due South to anyone looking to spend a week self-catering in Whitby.
Thank you for your review, much (email hidden)eased you enjoyed your stay.
This was an ideal accomodation in Whitby, great location (close to town and abbey but away from noise) and lovely historic building with wonderful balcony which was great for morning coffee and breakfast. The flat was lovely and clean with nice furniture and amazing views of whitby.
Communication before hand was very straightforward with prompt replies and helpful responses and were able to reassure despite a problem with the airbnb website not showing my booking. We also arrived late but Sybil met us immediately to show us the flat.
Thank you for your review, it's good to have positive feedback, and nice that the accommodation is appreciated
Lovely apartment....views of the boats and the harbour lovely, as described. A short but entertaining walk of 5 minutes or so and you're in the centre of Whitby. A nice chippie and Italian within 10 minutes of the flat. Flat had everything we needed for a lovely stay and our hosts were very welcoming and helpful.
Hello Louise ,
So pleased to read your review, sorry not to have seen you on your departure,
If you decide to visit again just hope the weather will be sunny as it makes such a difference.
We very much enjoyed staying in the Manor House attic . The flat was very well equipped and comfortable. Its history is interesting and it was a lovely place to return after 2 good coastal walks and seeing Whitby in the rain. Sybil and Tom are excellent hosts and we would certainly recommend this accommodation. You need to be fairly agile to get up the stairs!
Thank you for that, hope to see you again.

Tom and Sybil greeted us and full of enthusiasm they showed us around Due South. Due care is needed on the staircase but once you are in you are fine. I wear a leg brace so we were a little worried but no need. Take it slowly and it is fine. The apartment is beautiful with everything you could wish for provided. Tom and Sybil have no control over the weather and boy did we get weather. Everything but snow. With all you could need in the apartment nothing was a problem. We stayed for a week and only moved the car once to visit Robin Hoods bay. Whitby has many things to offer all kinds of people. My Mother says I have returned looking well and relaxed and that is all down to the beautiful town of Whitby and the thoughtfulness of Tom and Sybil for thinking of everything so no stress. Will definetely be looking to return another year.
