I'm from the UK but I've lived in Italy for just over 20 years now. I originally came for one year but loved it so much I decided to stay. I'm happy to help with ideas for things to do in the area, restaurant bookings or whatever else you may need.

Rachel made us feel welcome from the moment I contacted her about availability of the villa , answering our questions about the house and the village itself. Rachel always wrote a lot of information and painted a true picture of the place- and what a place! A gorgeous picture perfect villa in a friendly village with everything you need close by. We travelled with our nearly two year old and he was welcomed everywhere. Rachel provided a cot and high chair and even a little box of toys! There is a brilliant playground nearby which he loved. There are quite steep stairs in the villa - our son is at that age where we can teach him how to be safe with them but something to be aware of if you have young children. Rachel made us aware of this before we booked though so we knew they were there ! Little touches were there - juice, tea and coffee, pasta , Danishes, biscotti- for us the enjoy. We did a day trip to Florence and got there in about an hour by car. We had such a wonderful stay and only wish we were there longer!
We were greeted by Jon who kindly showed us over the apartment and made us feel very welcome. Rachel later came over after she returned from work to ensure that we were successfully settled in. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, extremely well-equipped, and conveniently located one short block from the via Roma, the main street in Scarperia. The apartment was clean, comfortable, convenient and spacious, spread over 3 floors. The king-size bed was particularly comfortable. Jon & Rachel made us feel welcome. The neighbours next door were a little noisy in the evenings, but this was a minor factor, and I would highly recommend Jon & Rachel's abode.
It was an amazing stay in a beautiful 3-story old building in a marvelous small Tuscany town. We were heartfully greet by our host Rachel and shown all the rooms. The house is pretty big, so I almost got lost in the middle. Everything was outstanding. If you would like to experience what a real Tuscany house is like, you should definitely have a stay here!
Where to begin???!!! 5 6 7 stars for the place, city, and Rachel and her fun family. A perfect place for my wife, 5 year old daughter and I. The town is a jem. The place is the closest you might come to a five star hotel on airbnb. We had a tremendous time. A place where I want to come back to every year.
Don't want to say too much more as it is for you to discover. A lake near by, fresh air, Florence Pisa Bologna sea are all an hour away by car.
Every Friday enjoy a market full of tasty treats and fresh fruit and vegetables.
Stay and live here!!!!
We stayed in this house during our visit to Scarperia for the Italian Moto Gp. The location is fantastic, smack centre of town, literally strolling distance to lots of lovely restaurants, cafes etc. But most important for us, its just 20 minutes walk to the best show on earth..... circuit de Mugello. Rachel is the perfect hostess. After a very long motorcycle journey (1700km) Rachel met us in town and brought us to the door. A quick tour of the house, and she was off, leaving us to relax and enjoy her very welcome gift pack. 5 adults stayed here in all the comforts of home. Rachel was just a call or text away and very helpful, recommending the restaurants and helping us with further travel plans. So, in short, if you have a reason to take a break in this beautiful part of the world Rachel should be your first contact.
Rachel and Jon were the perfect hosts. The apartment was beautiful, spacious and perfectly clean. Rachel gave a welcome basket with fruit, wine, snacks and cakes. We had a peaceful and wonderful stay for three nights and felt like we were staying in a spa! Scarperia is a fun town and perfectly located for exploring Florence and nearby towns. We will look forward to returning to Scarperia and visiting Jon and Rachel on our next trip to Italy.
Our stay in Scarperia was amazing. We were visiting the Mugello race circuit and choose to stay at Rachel's. We were certainly not disappointed. The apartment is just perfect, tucked away on a quiet street but close enough to everything in the town. Rachel was a great host and accounted for everything. Her restaurant recommendations were also lovely. I'm sure I will be back again
Had an excellent time staying in the house, with lots going on we had a really fun time. The house had a lovely feel to it and with it being in the center of the town there was plenty to do on your doorstep.
We spent a wonderful 2-week holiday at Rachel's house in Scarperia. Welcome drinks and fruits as well as everything you need in the house and kitchen to start the holiday. Very comfortable house and a nice situation to drive around and visit all the beautiful places of Tuscany. Rachel and Jon were very kind and helpful hosts to help us find our way around and feel at home. We would definitely recommend anyone wishing to visit the region to spend some time there.
Rachel was an awesome host. Helped us park our car, told us all about Scarperia. A great time overall. Place was very nice as shown in the listing. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking.
