Carlos and I are cousins :) I’m from Los Angeles, but have been living in Florence, Italy since 2002. I came to study Industrial Design, graduated, met my husband, Andrew (the typical Florentine mama’s boy :) and got married in 2010.
Since my husband does construction and renovation for large groups of apartments mostly in the residential areas of Florence, I kinda “butted in” and convinced him to begin renovating small apartments in the very center for students or tourists. And I mean, not the boring basic apartments, I mean the colorful, joyful, happy-go-lucky ones....
That’s when I began working with Airbnb - 2011, absolutely fell in love with it and stayed with it until now…**sniff sniff**….
This 2015 Andrew and I are opening a brand new chapter in our lives…annnddd…we have two little twin “buns in the oven” coming up for mid August!
So we have decided to pass on our Airbnb rentals to my super cool cousin, Carlitos, to run from now on. He’s from Ecuador, speaks English, Spanish, Italian, Ukrainian and Russian.
He’s a 6’3” gentle giant, very organized, respectful and the type of guy you can have fun whenever you hang out with him. Oh and I call him “Carlitos” because as kids, when I was 10 and he was 3, he use to run around the house making messes, and all I would hear is my aunt yelling “Carlitos!!! Carlitos!!!” lol…so that’s where he got his name.
And surprise, surprise! He also works with the importing of roses. Yup, not those shabby little red roses you can get from the streets. Im talking about those super thick, 1,20 meter roses. And no, we don’t import bananas, only roses :) lol
I hope your experience here in Florence is one of a kind, you can always count on Carlos in giving you any good tips on where to dine, where to hang out, what to visit, what not to visit, etc.
Benvenuti a Firenze!
