Writer. Compulsive reader. Web addict. I live on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, which feels most like home of any place I've been. If you are what you eat, I'm made of olives, wine, and cheese. Also burritos.

Laura was a perfect hostess from start to finish. Accomodating when we experienced a delay into town, offered recommendations in the neighborhood, checked in on us to ensure all was well, and her space had such amazing energy. Very interesting books, we're sorry we forgot to write a few titles down to read ourselves. Studio was exactly as described and pictured. A happening part of town and while the noise level wasn't ridiculous if you're a light sleeper or one that goes to bed early (which we are neither) be advised. Thank you, Laura. We will remember our weekend forever with smiles on our faces.
Great hostess, great apartment, great location!
Laura was very accommodating and was able to meet me in the afternoon for the key exchange. She's really friendly and quick with sms if you have any questions. She provides breakfast and a few snacks in the fridge (a really nice touch!) towels, some closet space and hangers, and a drawer for your belongings.
The apartment is bigger than it looks in the pictures, though still cozy. However, it's very well organized and everything has a place, so it doesnt feel cramped at all. The bed linens...my god, probably some of the comfiest Ive ever slept on!
The location is in LES and about two minutes to the nearest subway stop. But you dont really need to go far because so many great restaurants and bars just a couple feet away.
Cant stress how great this place is... I cant wait to go back!
Laura was a gracious and accommodating host. Her apartment was clean and comfortable (in fact I thought it seemed bigger than it looked in the pictures--just fine for a couple) and ideally situated for enjoying the LES and its surrounding neighborhoods. She also provided a list of her personal recommendations--thanks for the bagel tip! I would definitely recommend it to those looking for a nice place to stay downtown.
We had a wonderful time in New York City and in Laura's apartment. We found it to be quite close to at least two subway stations and had no problems using it as a "home base" for all the things we wanted to see in the city. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed to cook a few meals. We recommend staying here to anyone!
My stay at Laura's humble abode was perfect! Great location on the LES, close to the subway, restaurants & trendy little bars & cafes. As a female I felt totally safe walking around the neighbourhood by myself in the evenings.
Laura is amazing, my arrival flight got delayed so instead of a 7pm arrival I ended up arriving closer to 1am!! This was not a drama at all for Laura, she patiently waited around for me, greeting me with a smile.
I would definitely recommend Laura's place to anyone wanting to get out of the 'touristy' hub of Manhattan & experience the 'real' LES living.
I stayed at Laura's place for 4 nights with my girlfriend and had a blast. She is an awesome host who really knows some great places to have fun. I would definitely stay at Laura's again.
Laura’s apartment is great and she was a wonderful host! The Apt itself is clean and comfortable and just as advertised in the photos. Laura’s detailed list of neighborhood recommendations was invaluable and made the whole experience that much more enjoyable! Great restaurants and bars in every direction, live music on Ludlow, The Meatball Shop on Stanton, Russ & Daughters on Houston, and late night tacos at San Loco! All steps away from the Apt! Laura was there if I needed her and totally available for any and all questions. My only regret is that I did not stay longer!
Nice little studio! We really enjoyed the location, with a walkable distance to many bars, clubs, and restaurants. it's also very close from Midtown and Downtown, with easy access to the Subway.
Laura was also very gentile, and was always available if we needed something. She has even left us some breakfast material on the fridge and a bottle of wine!
And if you're planning to go out at night in NY and Brooklyn, this is the perfect place to stay. In fact, the flat is surrounded by bars, restaurants and clubs, and it might be noisy on weekends, specially for people with a light sleep.
Laura was a great guest, extremely considerate and easy to communicate with. She left the apartment spotless and I would gladly have her again.
Laura is a very nice & respectfull guest. She left the appartment very clean. Looking forward to welcome you again in Mtl. Claude
Laura and Venk were extremely respectful guests. I would fully recommend them to anyone looking to rent their apartment. They were easy to coordinate with and a pleasure to meet. I would gladly welcome them back to Berlin any time.
I love Laura's apartment! Not only is it in the best NYC neighborhood (and yes, I live in the LES too!), but it's also clean and cozy and perfect for people traveling through and wanting to get a first hand experience of the NYC lifestyle. You'll be wishing you actually lived there yourself! Laura herself is pretty amazing too and will help you with food recommendations (because you are in a foodie town after all), points of interest, bars, etc. All in all, you will have a great experience!
Laura's diggs (and Laura) are fantastic! The space is a nice and cozy LES respite and Laura can tell you all the great places just a stone's throw away from her doorstep.
