I really enjoyed this home and felt it was a perfect place to focus on a project before the Thanksgiving holiday. It is conveniently located to exit 5 off of 89 and not far from Warren. The renovations are of very high quality! A very cozy cabin and very great host to communicate with!
We had a wonderful stay. It was a cozy cottage, tucked away. Just what we were looking for. Lisa was very helpful and accommodating when we arrived. It is close enough to do some great exploring in Montpelier, but tucked far enough away in the woods where it's peaceful and quiet.
The Hemlock cottage was lovely - charming and comfortable! Quiet and surrounded by trees, with plenty of room to explore nature but only a few minutes from Montpelier by car. Lisa and Jonathan made us feel very welcome - and their German Shepherd was a good friend for our dog too, she showed him all the good spots to wade in the creek!
My sweetheart and I enjoyed our stay at the Spruce Cottage. The property is exactly as pictured, and there have been recent renovations of the kitchen and bathroom on the main floor, both of which were very smartly done. The bed on the first floor is very comfortable and the linens were clean, soft, and warm. Lisa provided us with eggs, coffee, homemade bread, and cooking oil to get us started the first morning: what a lovely and thoughtful touch! Lisa also was super flexible and granted us an early check-in, which was very much appreciated. We enjoyed our privacy the rest of the weekend at the Spruce Cottage, but Lisa made herself available by phone or email if we needed her for any reason.
What the pictures on Airbnb do not show, however, is the incredible beauty of the grounds at The Woods. Across the street from our cottage there was a fast-moving river with a small waterfall and swimming hole. Our dogs really loved frolicking in the fields around the river and jumping in to cool off. There are wild flowers all over the property and Lisa and her employees kept the grounds very well-maintained. The location of The Woods is nicely situated if you're interested in poking around Montpelier and Waterbury (each only 25 minutes away). We also took a day trip to Burlington (a 45 minute drive) and found it to be equally easy and enjoyable.
All in all we had a wonderfully enjoyable few days at the Spruce Cottage surrounded by incredible nature. If you're looking for a charming, rustic, and somewhat remote Vermont experience, the Spruce Cottage will be right up your alley. Thank you, Lisa!
I stayed for about a month and found Willow Cottage even better than I expected - and my expectations were high. Beautiful surroundings, easy going neighbors and gracious hosts. Lisa even introduced me to a reliable walker for my dog. I recommend the cottage strongly.
What a smooth and amazing experience we had! Lisa was incredible and went out of her way to accommodate our check in/ check out times during off-hours. We were a group of 5 and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Stowe Mountainside made this holiday weekend trip memorable and we look forward to booking with them again
Lisa was really helpful and nice and was there to welcome us.
The cabin was very warm and we were able to borrow anything we needed from Lisa's commercial kitchen across the way. We came here to ski and it was an extremely cold weekend--yet the cabin was warm and comfortable. Lisa even left us some fresh eggs.
We arrived at this picturesque location in the heart of VT on Friday. Lisa and her staff where there to greet us and show us the space. The accommodations where perfect. Quiet and comfortable what more can you ask for. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay. Marie, Dakota, Inca, Apollo and I hope to do it again soon.
amazing place everything was perfect thank you so much Lisa. -Ryan
