we are a couple in our fifities with two grown up children who are currently studying arts and architecture. Anna is a high school teacher while Renato runs a small bookstore on Isola dei Pescatori.
We had a fabulous stay at Anna and Renato's apartment. The flat is very tastefully furnished, cosy, and it has a beautiful view of the shore. Our hosts were very welcoming and greeted us with nice details. The island is tiny, and now, at starting off season, it was very quiet - just ideal for relaxation and simply doing nothing. We're already missing it!
We had a wonderful long weekend on your island. The apartment is very cozy and the location is great for a romantic getaway. Excellent food and very welcoming owners.
a great memory for me and my family. we stayed 3 nights on the Isola dei Pescatori and it was a real paradise. the perfect way to discover the lago maggiore since a lot of boats are doing the junction between stresa, baveno and the other Borromées Islands at an accessible price.
amazing quietness at night, a beautiful and charming village, very nice people among them Anna, so welcoming host. we really felt at home thanks to her kindness. we will definitely try to come back for a few more days on the island.
Very nice cozy apartment on an adorable little island. Great to relax and dine on the island, or take the water taxies to any of the nearby islands and towns. Super nice and helpful owners.
This is the absolute place to go if you want to visit the Borromean islands on the lake maggiore. Ana and Renato's apartment is on one of the islands itself and makes it the perfect gateway to visit the others. the feeling of also being "a resident" amongst the 50 other people who live there through the year is absolutely unique and something only a stay by someone local can give you. At 6pm, when all the tourists board the last boat to the main land, you make your way down to the harbour to wave them good bye and start wandering the small streets of the island, now almost entirely empty, and are blessed with an experience few before you have had...
Response from Anna E Renato:
thanks Francois it seems you really got the spirit of the place! it is very nice what you wrote.
