Professional contacts with the host, returning texts and email promptly and initiating reminders. The property was very clean when we arrived. The neighborhood is "urban" with subway only 1 1/2 block away. The property is on the first floor with a few steps (stoop) from the street. Unfortunately there were groups of young guys camping on the front steps all afternoons and evenings. They talk and smoke pot past midnight, which can be noisy for the front bedroom (the one with 2 twin beds). The rear bedroom on the opposite end of the apartment with the queen bed was quiet. The wireless was unprotected and worked well. The hallway with the table, couch, and kitchen is narrower that it appears in the pictures and not very conducive to just hanging out. But who wants to stay inside when in NYC. The A/C in the back bedroom and hallway worked well. No A/C in the front bedroom.
Everything that was posted on the website description was accurate. My friends and I were pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of everyone in the neighborhood. To be honest being from New Zealand we had only heard stories of the 'Harlem' neighborhood. However, if this point is holding anyone back from taking this place, don't let it be an issue at all.
In addition to this, this place really does have all the necessary facilities in its general vicinity. Food places, pharmacy, subway, a park for jogs in the morning, squirrels in park :)
Thank you Ira for providing such a nice place.
Really good place! Nice big apartment in a perfect location. We stayed 6 people and we were very comfortable. I would recommend it to anybody!
Very bad experience with this apartment. Almost impossible to sleep during the first nights due to bed bugs in one of the living rooms. Having to spend 3 nights sleeping in the sofa.
Additionally, the treatment from Ira was not up to the treatment expected from such an expensive apartment. The check out day, he received the new guests before we left the house (having agreed to leave at 2pm, he showed up there at 12 with the new guests while we were out). We got the the apartment and found our luggage open in the living room, with the new guest around, and even with one of the little children that came with the new guests playing with the things from one of our luggage.
On the other hand, we must also say that the apartment is great. Perfect location, 5 minutes away from Rockefeller, and a very useful living room to chill after a whole day of tourism.
Everything was great, the apartment is amasing and everthing was arranged perfect.
I would highly recommend this beautiful apartment !
Ira and Evgeni were conscientious hosts, returning texts promptly and initiating reminders. The property was very clean and as pictured. The neighborhood is urban and the property is 1/2 a block from a great convenience store that will cook you breakfast or make a sandwich. The subway is only 1 1/2 blocks away. The property is on the first floor and only requires one short flight of stairs. Unfortunately there was a group of guys who talked out on the street until 12 one night and 2am the next. This was noisy for the front bedroom (the one with 2 twin beds). The rear bedroom on the opposite end of the apartment with the queen bed was quiet. The wireless supported several of us on different devices at the same time. The tv is cable, but only gets the most basic local channels. I would definitely book with these hosts again.
We had a wonderful experience with Ira. He was completely available to us at all times. He answered questions and requests quickly and was a wonderful host.
The apartment made our stay in NYC wonderful. It was exactly like you see in the pictures, spacious, immaculate, and very comfortable. I am so glad we rented with Ira. The apt. was very close to restaurants, stores, and many places we wanted to visit. We walked everywhere. It was great to have an elevator to get to the 5th floor apt. I felt safe in the building and on the street. If I ever had the occasion to visit NYC again I would rent from Ira once more. It really outdid a hotel room.
I stayed at this apartment with my fiancé and mother-in-law for a 5 day trip to NYC. The apartment was incredibly spacious, and it was really nice to have the bedrooms on opposite sides of the apartment so we all had adequate privacy. The location was beautiful, we loved walking along the park during the day. It was very easy to navigate the subway since our stop was so close to the apt, even for my mother-in-law. Our host was very quick to respond if we needed anything, and overall we had a great stay! Would definitely stay again in the future!
The apartment was great, perfect for us. And location was perfect! Easy to find, subway was close and lots of great restaurants nearby.
Evgeni was a great guest -- very clean and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!
