Bob is very nice, and voluntarily offered to pick us up from the airport and also drop up back to the airport.
The teak house is a new living experience for us, close to nature and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The room is well organised and neat too.
Bob is very friendly and helpful in terms of giving good advice on what to do on our trips.
Fantastic time. Bob picked us up from the Airport and on the ride to his house gave us the lowdown on the area and how to get around. The house itself was fantastic, such a cool place to stay. Bob has flowers and trees all over the property, giving it the feel that you are secluded. Bob helped us rent a moped for the week and gave us great advice on places to visit while in town. We were even able to see some of his other house, all of which are fantastic. I would recommend staying at any of Bob's houses!
Bob was a real swell guy. Picked us up from Chiang Mai and dropped us off so we didn't have to worry about getting to his place or from it. You will need a scooter or other personal transportation to get there day-to-day which Bob will help you get if you wish. Real country living, tons of wildlife! Nice relaxing vibe. One of dogs he has is real sweet and stayed with us the whole time. It's a safe place and there are shops you can walk to for food and drinks nearby.
Bob has been very welcoming, helpful and friendly. From the very begining, he picked us up at the train station, shared a lot of informations and tips on the activities and services in the area. The house is equiped with everything you need and nicely decorated. Even if the house is located 20 minutes on the motobike away from town, we definitely recommand this charming homestay for anyone who s looking for a simple quiet garden vibe.
Bob is both charming and welcoming. He picked us up from our guesthouse in town. Bob was early and helped us with our luggage. On the quick drive out, he pointed out the landmarks and things to do. The complex is serene and beautiful, the houses are qauint and there were no leaks during a brief thunderstorm :) We would recommend Bob and his house to anyone.
An amazing retreat outside of Chiang Mai. Bob picked us up at the airport. The accommodations were super. Rooms are beautifully decorated. It only cost 30 baht for the two of us to get to the center of Chiang Mai from the Teak House. There's a super restaurant close by where we ate dinner every night! Thanks, Bob, for a wonderful stay!
We had an amazing and way to short stay at Bobs house. We where surprised to see how much there actually was to do and see in the surrounding villages and had great fun biking around and going to markets and local resturants. Chiang Mai city was a really good experience but going the 10 km outside of town was so cool, you get to see a much more real Thailand.
The price is ridiculus for what you get, and its clear that bob isent in it for the money, but we would recomend this to anyone even if it was priced much higher, as its an uniqe experience. Besides that Bob was a superb host, knowlegeable , sharing and just such a nice guy.
Bob's place is decorated in antiques and seems like a great sanctuary away from the city. Unfortunately, we didn't realize it was about a 20 minute bus ride from central Chiang Mai, so we ended up staying elsewhere. If you are looking for something quiet and remote, this will be perfectly suited for you.
Bob was very accommodating giving advice on travels and allowing us to use bicycles and scooters. The place is quaint and located 15 minutes outside chiang mai. Easily accessible to the city by cab.
Bob really went above and beyond normal hosting duties. He picked us up from the bus station, took us to eat a delicious Thai dinner, loaned us bicycles for free, offered to let us use his motorcycle for free, gave us great directions to several interesting locations, openly chatted about his experiences in Thailand, welcomed us into his home for a cup of tea, arranged a WWOOFING host for us, arranged a very cheap 2-week motorcycle hire for us, and is currently storing our bags while we travel around the north of the country.
Wow! All of that is very much appreciated. Bob, our short stay in Chiang Mai was made so much better by your hospitality.
As for the room itself, it was beautifully decorated, cool with the AC, and homely. We loved the many strange noises from the surrounding frogs, and the multitude of trees.
Don't hesitate to stay at this guest house. We're both frugal bastards, and we don't regret it.
