The apartment is in a wonderful part of the city, with lots of lively terraces which start filling up at the end of the afternoon. It is also conveniently close to the subway and of course Central park is around the corner.
The apartment is spacious as well, unfortunately sleeping in the front room is nearly impossible due to the banging of the pipes and hissing of the heating which starts up again and again at night. This noise is so loud that is drowns out all sounds from the street, so hard to ignore!
There were a few kitchen chairs to sit on, even though you had to be careful as most of them were falling apart. The only seemingly comfortable chair had no seat in it, so couldn't be used.
The fact that the apartment below was being renovated didn't help either, as soon as the workers trooped in at sevenish, your day would hae to start as well. I guess this is only temporary, but as it seemed a major renovation I suppose it is not wise to rent this apartment for the next couple of months.
Anyway, if you just need a pad to crash, don't need any comfort and don't mind the noise then this apartment is a perfect place due to the location!
I stayed here for 4 nights, and I must say, the location is fantastic. Close to many attractions, and a short subway ride to everywhere else! The apartment was exceptionally clean when we arrived. Would have been 5 stars but the Wi-Fi does not work and the apartment directly below us was under heavy renovations, which meant lots of noise early in the morning, and sometimes during the night as well.
the area is really bussy but also nice - lot of shops, restaurants, nearby central park and tubes. away from speciall touristic areas but it was really loud. nevertheless we liked it. the ap. itself is simple, dark and partly not clean. the communication with eddy was only by phone and sometimes difficult. for example the promised wi-fi doesn't work
This apartment is not recommended. It looked great in the photos but was very ugly when we arrived. The walls are painted high gloss green and brown and there was not one touch of decoration anywhere. It was dirty and dingy. I couldn't walk around in bare feet and the windows were covered in pigeon droppings. There were seven corkscrews and not can opener. We had one thin blanket for our bed. I would never suggest anyone stay here. Very very disappointing. Even the location didn't mitigate the depression we experienced living here. Very disappointing.
We were five friends in this apartment.
The location is good, a few blocks from central park
we were able to easily park the car for the night for free but the day, you will have to pay.
The appartment was clean and enough big, you can stay up to 6.
Internet didn't work, maybe it's fixed now, but it was not a big deal,we were always outside !
I recommend this place if you're traveling with your friends.
We didn't met Eddie, but Eddie called us many times.
Eddie was a great host.
Eddie's 4 bed apartment in the Upper West side of Manhattan is a great spot for small groups looking to meet up in NYC. 4 of my good friends and I spent 5 days in NYC and the apartment was a great starting point for day and night activities. We were very happy with the experience. I would recommend this spot.
Eddie was very communicative about how and when to get the keys, and he was also very flexible. The apartment is nice and big and was clean. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in a great location on the Upper West Side.
The host canceled my reservation 5 days before arrival.
The host canceled my reservation 44 days before arrival.
