I am Australian (43) and live and work in Sydney, where I was born and bred. I work full time for a New South Wales Government department as a Project/Policy Officer and have previously worked as a media analyst. I love books (life would be incomplete without them), music, media and current affairs/politics. I have been to New York City three times (most recent trip was in 2013) and adored it!
I am very excited about coming back and exploring more of what “the Big Apple” and the US have to offer over October-November 2015. I'm calling it my Fall Foliage Frivolity Tour. This time, I will be exploring more of the US, including the Deep South (for its blues/rock n’ roll music history and civil rights history).
Apart from New York, thus far my travels have included Japan, Vietnam, Turkey, Iceland, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, France, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, and Finland, Spain and Denmark very briefly. And, of course, parts of Australia, including the beautiful Kangaroo Island and catching a total solar eclipse in Cairns, North Queensland! As many Australians do, I also lived in London on a working holiday from late 1999 to early 2002.
I used Air BnB for the first time in NYC back in 2013 and found (apart from being more economical) it offered me a richer experience of travelling and greater interaction with locals. I think this is one of its strengths.
On my future wish list is China, seeing the Northern Lights and chasing another solar eclipse at some point!
