Hi my name is Man, i like travel and diving. Hope you like my place.
Man's Place was a clean, reliable spot in a great location. I really enjoyed staying there and while we didn;t have much interaction it turned out to be an ideal location while staying in Hong Kong. Mahalo for your hospitality and I highly recommend this place!
The stay here was great. The beds were surprisingly soft. There was space to store luggage and essentials. Internet was fast and the two lovely ladies were always accommodating. They would always knock on our room to say the bathroom is free. I would stay here again!
Clean and Prime location.!
The Location was superb near MTR,night market, shopping, foods,The room was very
clean. The hosts were very (email hidden)e room Quite small but acceptable for
A small, clean room in an interesting area.
My brother and I are from Singapore and we stayed in this room for 3 nights. It was relatively ok but here are some stuff for you to take note of:
. Low cost!
. Extremely convenient - situated right at Ladies Market, a stone's throw away from Langham Place Mall, several eating joints and Mong Kok MTR - the location is perfect
. The place is clean
. Wifi is free and relatively fast
. The room uses a secure 'tap and lock' system like most hotels do
. Basic but very important amenities were given i.e. towels, slippers, hair dryer and international adaptor and hence, it makes our luggages a lot lighter when we don't have to pack these items in (note: we still used our own slippers though)
. Man's mum is a really nice and accommodative lady - we are able to leave our luggages at their place until 8pm at night despite having to check out before 12pm. She even gave us space and allowed us to reorganise our shopping when we headed back to retrieve our luggages
. Man is also polite and very prompt in terms of replies
(Not so good)
. The toilet bowl is faulty - you can't flush it normally and you have to 'flush' it manually using a pail of water. This is really inconvenient and worth giving a pass if you are uncomfortable. To be honest, we always use the washroom in the shopping malls before heading back because it was thaaaat inconvenient, I hope you get what I mean (note: it's not the household's fault though, there is a notice downstairs that the flushing system for the whole building/area is disrupted)
. The washroom is extremely small, typical of HK but still, extremely small. If small washrooms makes you uncomfortable I honestly suggest giving this place a pass. You can't really maneuver much in the washroom (note: my brother and I are Singaporeans and the apartments here are known to be very much like what we have but seriously, smallest bathroom we've seen/used thus far)
. Air ventilation in the room is bad. Thank God for the air-con but yeah, still bad
Other things to take note of:
. You have to make a HK$300 deposit upon checking in
. The 'concept' of this place is such that Man's mother actually sleeps in the living room so if you're back after say 10pm, you got to try to be as quiet as possible
. You can hear Man's mum talking on the phone or to someone in the morning due to the thin (fake) wall dividers. It should be fine if you're a relatively deep(er) sleeper, my brother and I were woken up a couple of times but we fell back to sleep quickly as well
I was in Hong Kong from 27 - 31 March for the HK7s so staying at Man's was perfect. Since I was not in the room much, the size of the room (probably 2 x 2.5m) did not affect me at all, and was in fact very cosy. The owners never bothered me during my stay there, and were very accommodating. Also, if you exit at D3 at Mongkok MRT, there is a small lane that you can cut through which will bring you to Man's place in about 15s (if you run that is, which we had to do a lot of since it was always raining when I was there). There is even a great beef noodle place 5 steps from the entrance of the apartment building! Very, very value for money given the location (right smack at the entrance of Ladies Market), and if you don't mind squeezing in a small bedroom with an even smaller shared toilet (which you should expect in HK), then Man's is your best choice. At such a low price, I will definitely be staying here again the next time I visit Hong Kong.
Stayed here for 3 nights and this place was just fine to me. Everything is exactly what you see on the photos. Nice location, many convenient stores and a lot of cheap food nearby 24/7. In the room you'll get fresh towel, adapter and slippers. They also provide shower gel and shampoo for you too. However during my stay, the toilet couldn't flush for some reason so you have to add water into a bucket and dump it. I think that was kinda weird. I didn't have a chance to see Mr. Man but his brother was good enough to welcome all guests. Will definitely recommend this place to my friends.
Great location, perfect for travellers on a budget
Nice to host Man! A friendly bloke! Thanks for the Mandarin Chinese lesson, eh! I did appreciate it.
