We loved staying at Riverside Cottage. It is situated ideally for a relaxing holiday in a picturesque little village where much is within walking distance. Sibilla and her local rep Janet were extremely helpful with all our questions, and offered great suggestions for local activities. The rooms were large and spacious, including the bathrooms, and the kitchen well-equipped. We happened to strike an unusually rainy/damp period and had difficulty drying our laundry. Recommend you don't use the central heating just for clothes drying - very expensive option, much more efficient to just go to the local laundromat!! We had difficulty with the wifi, perhaps also due to the weather. The lighting in the bedrooms is fairly dim. We were able to rent an additional room which was adjacent to Riverside Cottage to accommodate our group of mainly singles more comfortably. We slept to the sound of the river running by and woke to magnificent mountain views. Warmly recommended!
We had a wonderful relaxing holiday at Riverside Cottage. What a beautiful location! We loved being able to walk easily to so many lovely spots, as well as wander in the village nearby. The river running at the bottom of the garden ran through our dreams at night and the view out of the window in the mornings was spectacular. The accommodation itself was spacious and practical. We happened to encounter Bagni di Lucca in a particularly damp period and had problems getting washing dried. Would definitely recommend against turning on the central heating to dry washing on - much, much more economical to just drive to the nearby laundromat! The weather also played havoc with the wifi, which was very intermittent in connection. Our host was extremely helpful both in showing us through the house and dealing with our questions about how to operate things, especially the wifi!, and also in providing recommendations for the local area. Definitely a place to recommend!
An exquisite place to stay. The Riverside Cottage is stunning, the location is beautiful and the owners are delightful.
This was truly an amazing family holiday, totally relaxing and it represented incredible value for money. When you have your own beach on your own spectacular stretch of river you really do not need or miss a private pool. Whilst located in the stunning Tuscan hills you can spend a week without ever needing a car, however if you want to explore the many traditional Tuscan hill top villages they are just a short drive away.
The house is stunning, incredibly tastefully decorated and really comfortable. Recently completely renovated it has three bedrooms all with unbelievably comfortable handmade mattresses, lovely furniture and three large bathrooms. The handmade floor tiles throughout the house are beautiful.
The house is just three minutes walk to the centre of the tranquil and elegant Bagni Di Lucca with its bakers, shops, market, bars, beautiful outdoor swimming pool and great restaurants, you must eat at the delicious and inexpensive Mamo's.
Though on the road you are never disturbed by traffic noise as it is the massive luxury en suite bathrooms to the two double rooms that face the road. The bedrooms face the gardens.
The gardens are more like a small private park with lots of shade and a great area for children and adults to play and relax. However, as in all great children's stories it is at the bottom of the garden that the adventure really starts. Through a small gate there is a path that leads to your own private stretch of river and small private beach. It s absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.
The Italian owners, along with the housekeeper, of the Riverside Cottage are kind and generous and, whilst not intrusive at all, will do everything possible to ensure you have the best possible stay. They speak perfect English and French, and it is their great passion for their magnificent family house that ensures you will have a wonderfully relaxing and really memorable stay.
I can not wait until we go back there.
Great place to stay! During this hot summer a very comfortable climate in and outside the house. The inside is lovely decorated. Modern comfort and luxury with respect to history. Beautiful garden with a lot of shade and the river in the back of the house is a nice place to play for the children. And our respect for the very friendly and helpfull host Janet. We loved it !
