location was ok, First off Amer wanted to meet us to give us the keys but he was not there when we arrived, we waited 10-15 min he did let us in early, the building was old and a broken door with plastic wrap holding it together that Amer said would be fixed the next day. it was still broke when we left.4 days later. He told us that he had to clean the Apt because the cleaning person couldn't make it but there were dirty dishes in the dish rack. the bath mat was scary. Dude, put a few dollars into your accommodations it will help trust me.. there was hair and other ? on the rim over the toilet paper in bath. (gross) Bed was hard as a rock. Great if you like rocks to sleep on. There were 4 bath towels for guests NO hand towells or wash clothes. who the heck travels with towels? there was no broom (non carpeted floors and you picked everything up on your bare feet.) there was a few things in the fridge that should of been thrown out before we arrived. (old yogurt) ect... I really feel that for what we paid it was not worth it. we tried to watch tv one night and all that appeared on the screen was NO SERVICE..I would not recommend this place to stay in NYC unless you have no expectations what so ever.
Amer was friendly when I could reach him. The phone number that Airbnb gave me would not work and I ended up having to call Airbnb to get Amer to contact me. The room is very outdated and smells of mildew. The air condition is right next to the bed and loud so take your earplugs. The bathroom shower had mildew and a nasty rug in the tub that forced us to wear shower shoes. Some of the drawers in the dressers were full of junk. The building itself is old, and the carpet in the corridors very dirty. The front door to the building was broken and covered in plastic and cardboard. The neighborhood was close to the theater district and Hell's Kitchen. We don't think the place was worth the money even in New York.
I recently stayed at Amer's apartment since I was attending some shows at Madison Square Garden and it was conveniently located. Amer , throughout the process was very kind and helpful. Always responded promptly and provided assistance .
The review of the apartment. First the good. Amer is a approachable host, and felt he was responsive and helpful. I only had contact with him a bit before arrival securing address, advice ,and on my arrival and departure days.
Location was great for what I wanted . Nothing better than MSG right around the corner along with Penn station. The AC was good since I always want it cool and this seem to do a good job.
When I arrived , was not sure if Amer was prepared for this and was still preparing the room??? There is not a doorman, the entry is easily overlooked, wedged in between a massage business and warehouse. There is a lot of construction going on and deliveries across the street.
The building is old and appears that the owner of the building does nothing to improve the appearance. The front door has a broken window, the wall are all banged up and stained. The front door handle also broke. There is a cardboard sign saying security cameras are monitoring, but all I saw was a sign and no security system. There was dog feces on the floor inside the building and someone has a dog that likes to bark... This is the owner of the buildings responsibility and does not reflect on the host. Just wanted you to not have a surprise.
The inside appeared that there needs to be attention to just general sanitation and upkeep. Perhaps, it is continually rented and not any time to do so? The floors were dirty, the bathroom toilet had not been cleaned and shower was the same with hair and used bars of soap. The rugs in the bathroom were dirty and stained.
The furniture in the bathroom was taped and falling apart.
The living area was ok, there was a refrigerator, microwave (that had not been cleaned) and limited cooking eating utensils .
The bedroom was fine with a window AC. There was no TV in the unit.
The place is the basic apartment . It would have been better if the host attended to the cleaning of the unit and bathroom more and put a few bucks into new bathroom rugs, and general repair.
If you want a place to just sleep, this is fine and convenient . A little overpriced for what I got, yes... But New York is pricey .
Again, Amer appears to be a nice guy and wants you to enjoy his place. Perhaps he was busy and someone checked out (email hidden)t sure but a few things would have went a long way.
First, the positives...Amer was very helpful during reservation and check-in. He was responsive, did great communications, and was very helpful getting us situated. From a location perspective, the proximity to Times Square is excellent.
Though I have some constructive feedback, overall it was a decent place. The door from the street into the building was severely damaged, and looked very sketchy...still broken a couple days after my stay. The public hallways had lots of patching and was quite run-down, but that's out of control of the owner. I didn't feel the safest at night outside the apartment due to people hanging around Hells Kitchen...God I miss Giuliani.
The apartment itself was as advertised. The bed and living area was comfortable and nice. The bathroom is pretty (email hidden)ink it was reasonably clean, but since it was only one night, we chose to shower after returning home rather than using the shower.
This place is located in the heart of the manhattan, walking distance to many landmarks, such as time square. The apartment is clean and tidy. The beds are very comfortable. Amer is very helpful and extremely friendly. He is very responsive to questions and requests. Will stay here again next time in the city, no doubt.
We stayed for a week at Amer's Times Square Studio. The place looks as it is depicted in the photos. It is in a slightly old building with limited natural light, but that was not a problem for us since we were using it primarily to sleep in at the end of the day. The location is superb - 1 min from the subway, 1 street away from main times square, but not noisy at all given that it does not face the main street. Everything works fine - the aircon, kitchen and showers, and that was what we wanted...
Amer was a good host and helped us with our luggage while moving in and also while checking out. He was unable to pick us up from the NYC airport (as arranged) on our arrival due to a flat tire, but our drop-off as arranged with him on our way back to the airport was fine. His car is clean and comfortable.
We would highly recommend staying here.
Amer was a wonderful host. He insisted we drop our bags off prior to check in so that we didn't have to drag them around the city. He also stored them for us the following morning after check out. The bedroom was comfortable and there is a window A/C unit which kept the room cool. The location is very central to all points.
He accepted me right away, things went downhill from there.sent him a message at7:09 pm Friday with questions about the listing he listed Tv/ Internet .i wanted to know if he had cable, and about the parking I never received a reply until 2:38 am Monday.
I am sent to the wrong place on the listing it is NOT on w30th at I get there and there is Graffitti next to the broken/shattered window of the front door.
With construction going on, yup porta pots next to the door. And yes a generator that ran under your bathroom window most of the night. Walk up the stair well to the smell of cat urine the stench was overpowering every time you left the building. Inside the place was dirty dusty stained up furniture.the pictures must of been from 20 years ago, contact paper falling off the bathroom walls / cabinets mold in the tub/shower .
His add read hot tub, TV Internet, no hot tub no TV and the interment was almost nonexistent I was unable to connect.
So the only thing true in his listing is that it was a 1 bedroom everything else is blatant lies.this rental is like renting a flea bag motel only 175.00 more expensive.
SHAME ON YOU AMER !!!
Amer showed us the apartment and helped us locate maps and some other activities to do around the city. He was very nice. The listing is accurate; it's a small, pretty typical NYC apartment. The neighborhood is convenient and we felt safe.
top lage, freundlicher gastgeber, nicht sehr sauber, laut da fenster alt sind, bad alt, kein wifi
