We stayed in two units in one building that Stuart owns. The building is on a beautiful street in Old Louisville. The units were both really good. We had six people staying in total and everybody was really comfortable.
Nice apartment in a nice location. Enjoyed my stay very much
Stuart was excellent to work with, even sending a detailed email with Derby tips and places to go. The neighborhood is quaint and safe, and withing biking distance to the track (highly recommended). We will definitely be back for our next Kentucky Derby trip!!
Great house. Great owner. Great location. Great town. We were in town for the Derby and had an amazing time on 2nd Street. Stuart left clear instructions and even provided some helpful local knowledge for the weekend. The house is perfect for such a visit. The second bedroom is really a nook with a single bed, but this did not take away from experience.
The neighborhood was nice with ample parking on the street and in the back near the alley. Close to a great pizza place and the popular Mag Bar. A short walk to downtown, and a 10 minute cab ride. Stuart was more than cooperative when we told him that we would have our dog with us. There is a fenced in backyard that is very convenient if you do have a dog. When I needed Stuart to be available for check-in he was and responded immediately.
Well appointed apartment in a classic Victorian home. Comfortable, clean and newly furnished, this is excellent accommodation for your Louisville adventure. Stuart and Rick are very helpful and all requests or inquires are speedily answered.
The neighbourhood is a national treasure, the old Victorian mansions make for awe inspiring walks to the local restaurants, stores and parks. Be sure to eat at Amicci's, a comfortable local Italian lounge/resto and later, sample the edgy glam of Louisville's most famous dive bar: Mag Bar.
If you're not driving, the #2 bus takes to you right downtown in 10 minutes (get it out side your door) or take the #25 to go across to 'The Highlands' a local shopping area of local independent boutiques, get the #25 2 minutes (email hidden)..
Enjoy your stay. We did! Thanks Stuart....
We had a great experience with Stuart. He was super-accommodating and very responsive. We literally booked the place for an entire month the night before we arrived - which happened to be the same day he was leaving town! But, he still made it work for us. The building is one of the many gorgeous old buildings in the Old Louisville neighborhood. He has 2 apartments in it, and has done a lot of remodeling. The upstairs place is completely redone, very nicely, while the downstairs we stayed in is a little older, but has had some updates as well and is very comfortable (and cheaper).
The neighborhood has a few nice places to walk to - coffee at Smokey's Bean, dinner and\or drinks at Amici, The Mag Bar, and a convenience store. You can also walk up to U of L (and Quills coffee). Beyond that you'll either want a car or use bus or cabs. About a $10 cab ride gets you downtown\NuLu or over to the Highlands where there are more bars\restaurants.
One last note... if you come to Louisville, make sure to check out either The Urban Bourbon Trail (in bars in the city), or the original Bourbon Trail (around the state at the distilleries). Or... both, like we did!
This was my first experience with Airbnb, and Stuart (email hidden). He walked me though making sure everything was setup for my trip. I would absolutely recommend renting from Stuart.
The apartment was clean, wonderfully furnished and centrally located about a mile walk from downtown. Large comfortable bed, all of the appliances you would expect and even located in beautiful Historic Old Louisville. I will definitely rent from Stuart again.
Stuart was very helpful from the beginning with booking the apartment and also responded to our requests very quickly while we were staying there. The apartment is large for a one bedroom and very clean. The location can't be beat - within walking distance to downtown and the University of Louisville. It's also very close to Church Hill Downs. I highly recommend using this apartment while your stay in Louisville!
