Stayed with Ryan for a month while doing Rotations at a hospital (great place for medical student who need to be close to NRH, Childrens or WHC because it is less than 2 min drive away). The neighborhood was good and friendly. I had no problem walking around at night time. There is ample parking in front of the house. The bus stop is right around the corner. Great location and great price. Ryan was a great host. He's an honest and caring person. I would def. stay with him again. He's not just host but now a new friend. Stay with Ryan and you will have a great time. AND MOST IMPORTAN!!! ALWAYS trust his restaurant advice.
Comfortable place in a calm and safe neighborhood. 1,5 km to kew garden metro station.
It was awful. There was junk everywhere and dirt and even dead cockroaches in the apartment. Also the sheets were dirty in the bedrooms and so were the towels and everything else. It was pretty disgusting. There was even gum on the floor. Kellie age 12
Can you imagine having to find a new place for yourself and your ballet dancing daughter to stay in DC for three weeks at the last minute because the place you booked was filthy dirty and the dear little ladies on the bus said we should not be walking after dark in this neighborhood! I am pretty angry at Ryan, who said he would meet us with the key but left it in the mailbox instead. Who said it was a safe neighborhood when the police reports say it is not and shows pictures that are not even REMOTELY like the place really looks. It had not been cleaned in months, the trash was overflowing onto the floors, the toilets were disgusting and every room looked like someone had left in a hurry in the middle of the night....clothes strewn around amongst the cockroaches and filth. I had had plenty of email and phone conversation with Ryan and feel like he is either dishonest or had not bothered to go inside his place for a long time....but the outside did not look like the photo either! I wish his mother had seen it. It ended up costing me much more money having to stay in hotels and my daughter was pretty traumatized by all of the cockroaches -living and dead. Augh!
We stayed at Ryan's house for three days.He is a nice host. We used the house just to sleep. The neighborhood is good and is 20 minutes away from the metro station.
Ryan is cool and very helpful. The house is big, has everything you need, an is located in a safe area.
Ryan was extremely helpful and accommodating - even after a delay in my travel plans that I am sure resulting in my waking him from a sound sleep.
A quiet residential street with close proximity to Howard University were also attractive attributes.
The space was completely as advertised and I would definitely consider Ryan's listings in my future visits to DC.
I stayed at Ryan's place for four weeks. Ryan is really nice, he showed me around the area, had lots of good restaurant recommendations and even gave me a lift to the local supermarket. He lives in the apartment next door and replies to emails super fast so whenever you have a question it's very easy to get hold of him.
The place is very spacious and clean. I shared a bathroom with one other person which worked out well. The kitchen is relatively well equipped, definitely all you need to cook a simple meal.
The area is quiet and safe, the metro is a 20 minute walk away but there's a bus too. There's a 7/11 plus a few shops 5 minutes away but if you want to go out you need to take the metro.
I had a great time and would stay there again.
I have been staying with Ryan off and on for about 6 months. He is an excellent host and a friendly person.
I was in DC for the inauguration. Ryan's place was close to the Metro. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed safe. 15 minute walk to the Metro station and 20 minute ride to Federal Triangle which put me near the capital. Reasonably priced for the location; nice no frills room. I got there Saturday afternoon and stayed until Tuesday morning. I was mostly in and out all day Sunday and Monday and needed a place to sleep basically. met Ryan briefly and got the keys and was set for my stay. would stay there again.
I enjoyed hosting Ryan and getting to know him a bit. As a fellow AirBnB host, we had a lot to share and talk about. I would gladly host him again!
Ryan was a delightful guest to have at my home. He hi a very polite and easy going young man. I highly recommend him as guest.
