My husband John and I have several long term flats for lease, but started renting 3 of them through Airbnb recently, which has been great! We love meeting new people, and will do whatever we can to make your stay in Prague the best possible.
Undoubtedly that is the ideal place to stay, if you are visiting Prague, especially for the first time. I think so because of three aspects:
1)facilities: extremely spacious, with fully-equipped kitchen, newish furniture and unforgettable view on the Charles Bridge (even with life music in the evenings from the nearby cafe under the bridge!)
2)location: walking distance to the main sightings on the both sides of the river, at the heart of Prague - no need for public transport (used once in 8 days). 2 minutes walk to the nearest shop, where you can buy any sort of food and drinks.
3)attitude of the host: Petra and John are very comfortable people to communicate with. They kindly give you all direction, nearby places to dine and really useful advice for people who are for the first time in Prague(for example, to safe money on AAA taxi). It is so pleasurable that they fully care about the comfort of your staying.
Overall, it is the best value for money and most importantly your time, if you want to visit Prague. We were seriously filling like at home! But book in advance, because once you've stayed in Petra and John Apartment, you will definitely come back again!
Absolutely faultless. Apartment was great (modern, clean, spacious, well-stocked) and the location is simply superb. John was very helpful and everything went smoothly. We had an amazing stay and would highly recommend.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. While this does not have the lived in feel and conveniences of other apartments (e.g., laundry detergent) it is nevertheless an excellent find. For example, you're only a couple of blocks from an excellent grocery store and while exceedingly close to all of the sites you're far enough removed (only a couple of blocks) that you feel like you're living in a neighborhood that a local would choose. Also, the apartment is wonderfully quiet. There is a lovely and decently sized balcony - we enjoyed a cup of coffee on the balcony (in March) and contemplated how amazing it would be to have that space in the summer.
Lovely apartment and very nice hosts. They met us upon arrival and were very helpful. The apartment has everything you could need and is spacious and has a very excelent location close to the Charles bridge. We were very happy with our stay here, we would absolutly recommend it to others.
This apartment is just gorgeous. It is spacious, clean, well equipped and in the most beautiful part of the city in my opinion. John met us as planned and explained everything thoroughly. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Prague. I would also like to say that people should pay attention to what John says about the taxis. We used AAA taxi service many times over our 5 days as John recommended. They spoke English, were punctual and well priced. On one occasion we enquired with another company out of curiosity and were quoted over 3 times what we had been paying with AAA.
Overall - if I am lucky enoughf or come back it will be to this apartment. Thank you John.

The first thing you´ll notice when you stay here is how professional the host is. The next thing you´ll notice is the four flights of stairs which we actually appreciated for the workout. However, on one occasion when I left something upstairs and didn´t realize until we got outside, the stairs were slightly less appreciated.
It´s a really nice, clean place and set up perfectly. So perfectly that we haven´t had to contact the host for anything the entire time we´ve been here.
The only ding on the place is the bathroom door. It is a sliding frosted glass door that does not prevent those wonderful bathroom sounds from exiting the room and if your partner is sitting on the couch they´re hearing everything. Thankfully the sink water pressure is very high and loud so you can mask the noises. Sorry John but your water bill is probably a bit higher than it would have been otherwise!
The location is pretty much perfect. Prague 1 is walkable in a single day and this place is a block away from a great supermarket and two blocks away from a small park with a sidewalk circling it which is almost exactly .5km a lap and perfect for running around without worrying about vehicle traffic.
...about Prague. She was expecting a city of criminals and I was expecting a city full of Playboy models and in reality it´s neither. It´s an up and coming city without a trashy person in site. Probably a mini-version of Paris 50 years ago. The only seedy looking person we saw the entire stay was a beggar and we joked that he was a former criminal out of work.
The strip clubs were disappointing if you´re expecting world class women. They weren´t anything better than a typical mid-market city. We also went to a well-known night club -- it was ´okay´ but definitely inferior to what you´d find in Berlin.
We saw all the typical ´tourist´ stuff in two days. I would recommend setting aside three days for a trip to Prague and you couldn´t do better than staying at John and Petra´s place.
John your internet has the same SSID as someone else and because of this I was unable to connect to it with my long range wireless card as my computer was finding the distant one as well. I recommend renaming it by one letter or something.
Great apartment in a great location. Staying on the Mala Strana side of Prague was much better than staying in Old Town. With the Metro/Tram stop a 2 minute walk away, it's super easy to get anywhere in the city. I'd recommend getting out of the super touristy spots for meals. There are some great places south of the apartment as well as in the Vinohrady district. Take the 22 tram out to Osteria De Clara in Vinohrady for some great Italian food.
John was a great host. The appartment is absolutely fantastic, tidy, comfortable and well situated. And to top it all, Prague is a wonderful city.
Amy and I stayed for five nights at John and Petra’s Charles Bridge apartment for a vacation. John was very communicative and helpful as we planned our trip. He met us at the apartment with his son, and they gave us an introduction to the apartment and the neighborhood. The apartment is beautiful, and the location is fantastic. The apartment overlooks the Charles Bridge and a small canal that flows from the river. The neighborhood is busy and safe, and the apartment is quiet. We used the kitchen and were pleased with its abundant supplies. The neighborhood is ideal for walking to Prague Castle, Old Town, Josefov, or Wenceslas Square in New Town. We found a great bakery less than a minute from the front door, a wonderful vegetarian restaurant within 6-7 minutes walk, and an organic grocery within 10 minutes walk. We would definitely recommend John and Petra’s place, if you visit Prague, and we would certainly stay there again whenever we return.
We loved this apartment. There is so much space and the location was great. We would highly recommend it!
Have known John for a long while and he is the perfect gentleman and will do anything for anybody.
John has amazing flats in the center of Prague. Besides that he's a great, trustworthy guy who has a great deal of knowledge about the city and will do whatever he can to make your stay here comfortable and exciting.
I have known John for over 7 years, as a friend and in business. John is friendly, affable, outgoing and pays real attention to quality and detail. John has been a great social host to me in the past, I am sure he takes great care of his guests!
