Originally from the corn fields of Western Iowa, have lived most of my life in Los Angeles and am currently stealing the neighbors chives in Portland, OR. (His name is Forest. He doesn't mind.) I am a professional poet, and the director of the nonprofit Write Now Poetry Society. I spend most of my time reading and writing and performing, attending other poets' and musicians' performances, and hatching plans for events. I travel about 3/5 of each year to teach, perform or produce poetry events in other cities. Depending on what deadlines I'm under and what that project calls for, I'm either hunting some bourbon that tastes like naughty maple syrup or I'm dedicatedly sipping decaf earl grey. I like people.
